It had been some time since George had been on his last adventure, and he was pleased to say he had become very attached to the little baby he now came to know and love as Tyler.
However, in recent months George had felt that something was different.
"Something just isn't the same as it used to be" thought George

George decided to ask his friends at the yard if they had noticed anything different, or any changes.
It was true, that since his last adventure George had lost some friends, but also gained new ones at the yard, this gave George great hope that they would have new, and maybe better ideas then on his last adventure.
So, with a bounce in his stride off he set!
The first friends George saw were Muffin, Mocha and Gino, who were often on the look out for food and adventures of their own.
"Excuse me" said George "I need your help, something has changed around the yard and I'm not sure what it is. Do you have any ideas?" he asked.
Gino was the first to pipe up "George, my friend, the only thing that has changed is I was fast asleep! But, now that I'm awake, I haven't noticed any changes"

Mocha was quick to interrupt and tell Gino to be nice to George "I have been in the hay shed this morning, and nothing has changed in there, except for some new hay has arrived for me to sleep on"
"Ok, thank you" said George "what about you muffin?"
Muffin thought for a second "I was out in the field today
and saw a rabbit, its not normally that quiet for me to
see rabbits."
Thinking about it, all three agreed that it had been
very quiet at the yard recently.
George thanked the cats and carried on.

It was still early in the morning, and George noticed Tyler and Glen stood in the field.
"Good morning, can I ask you a question?"
"Yea, sure, whats up George?" Replied Tyler
"Something seems different around the yard,
but I'm not sure what it is, any idea?"
Glen lifted his head from grazing "we've had some very lazy mornings, I mean Tyler still has his pyjamas on, that's different."
George, Glen and Tyler laughed, it was different, but not unusual for Tyler to be in his pyjamas!

George then found Dolly, Victor and Tyke, they all seemed to be having lazy mornings too.
With a yawn and a stretch Dolly said "George you're looking for something that has changed, all I'm going to say is we have great lie ins now!"
"And we love them!" said Tyke and Victor together, "maybe we've worked so hard were getting a holiday?" said Victor
Although he was retired George acknowledged the other horses did work hard, but lazy mornings weren't the only change.

George quickly remembered that the last time the answer had been in the office, so he strode across the yard feeling very confident about his decision.
However, this time in the office there wasn't a baby, but Theo and Bert.
Feeling a little disappointed George greeted them
"Hello boys, I'm trying to see if anyone knows what has changed around the yard, do you have any ideas?"
Bert jumped up "yea I know! you've a new hair cut!"
George shook his head, Bert was beautiful but not the smartest, he looked to Theo.
"I've been on dog watch today and most days from this office, all I can report is that there haven't been as many people come in and out of the gates as there used to be"
"Oh he's right, what he said!" exclaimed Bert
George thanked them both and let them go back to
napping.

On the yard was Murphy, so George made his way over
"Hello old friend, have you noticed anything different around here lately?"
Murphy looked down at himself
"I can say with some degree of certainty
that there has been a lot more cleaning!"
George then realised that Murphy was standing
in a big puddle, with a watery sheen to him, smiling George said
"Oh yes, so I see, but you look very handsome, maybe you are getting ready to go out in the lorry for a show?"

Vancy, who was standing in the yard shouted across
"I highly doubt it! the lorry has barely moved in months!"
"Maybe that's the thing that has changed
that you're thinking about" A voice from the
field cried, it could only belong to Twiggy!
George thought for a moment but decided it wasn't the change that he was thinking of. Dora often stayed still for weeks at a time.

Sasha was stood in her stable with something funny on her back
"What's that?" asked George.
"Iitttssss aaaa mmmaaasssaagggeerrr" said Sasha,
enjoying the massage.
"It looks funny on you" Said George.
"If you want to know something that looks funny it's the humans, who have all started putting mini feed bags on their faces!"
"You're right! but I don't think they are feed bags?" George wasn't sure what they were but he headed off to someone who might know.
