

Lion
The lion's nickname is King of The Beasts. These are the only wildcats to live in groups called prides. male lions have manes and female lions or lionesses don't. They eat the meat, so this means they're carnivores.























Giraffe
Giraffes are known as the tallest animals on Earth. They have long necks so they eat the leaves off of trees.



























Zebras. Zebras look like horses, but they have black and white stripes. The stripes confuse predators. These animals are herbivores the this means the like to eat grass.








Hippopotamus. Hippopotamus means river horse in Greek. Despite them grazing when the savanna is cool at nighttime and they are very dangerous.




Ostrich. The ostrich is the biggest bird in the world. Ostriches can't fly, but that's okay because flight is better done on foot.











Rhinoceros. Rhinos are animals related to the horse. Their horns are made of the same thing you find in your hair. They couldn't see well, but they have good sense of hearing.



Cheetah. The cheetah's fur is spotted. Cheetahs are the fastest animals on land. They can run up to 75 mph, That's fast as a car on a highway.
Chinchilla. Chinchillas are rodents that are mostly found in Chile. Their group name can be called a herd or a colony. Chinchillas are nocturnal meaning they sleep during the day and stay up at night.











Komodo dragon. Komodo dragons are the largest lizards on Earth. They have saliva that is venomous in order to kill their prey. Because they don't have lots of predators this means their apex predators.











Gorilla. Gorillas are the biggest primate in the greatest of all great apes. They're apes cause the don't have tails. Male gorillas grow sliver hair on their backs then they'll be called silverbacks.



Panda. Pandas are bears that mostly eat bamboo. These black and white bears are from an Asian country called China.











Elephants. Elephants are the largest animals on earth after whales. They have trunks that are long noses and upper lips. These animals live in groups called a herd.







Lemurs.
Lemurs are primates found in a place called Madagascar. These primates like to eat all kinds of fruits and veggies. There is 100 kinds of these primates, but sadly all of them are endangered

















Capybara. Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world. They're related to guinea pigs. They eat grass and water plants.






Tigers. Tigers are the largest cat in the world. These big cats have stipes to help them hide in the tall grass. All wild tigers are found in Asia. Sloths. Sloths are mammals related to anteaters and armadillos. Did you know that sloths are the slowest mammals on earth?



Peacock. The Peacock is the peafowl male. They amaze peahens with their beautiful tailfeathers.





Orangutan. The Orangutans are the most arboreal of all of the great apes. Orangutan means man of the forest. They live in the rainforests of Southeast Asia.








Okapi. Okapis are animals related to the giraffe. These animals have stripes on their legs. These hoofed animals mainly eat leaves, shoots, and twigs.










Macaws. Macaws are large parrots found in Central and South America. These birds like to eat leaves, fruit, nuts, seeds, and berries and they can live up to 60 years in the wild. The macaws come in many colors like red, yellow, scarlet, green and blue.





Chameleon. Chameleons are reptiles from the Eastern Hemisphere that can change colors to suit the background.







Otter. Otters are animals in the Mustelidae family. Otters can be found in unpolluted waters everywhere. All otters eat fish and crustaceans.






Bear
Bears are animals found in all parts of the world except for Africa, Antarctica, and Australia. These animals are ominvores this means they can eat plants, berries and small critters.
Squirrel. Squirrels are rodents that have teeth that can't stop growing. They eat nuts and seeds. Raccoon. Raccoons are nicknamed as the masked bandit. They are omnivores like most bears. This means they eat both plants and animals.

















Hedgehog. Hedgehogs are like pincushions with legs. These animals curl up to little ball to protect it's self from other animals. They like to eat insects like crickets, roaches, and worms.


Skunk. A skunk is part of the weasel family. These animal are known to spray a liquid with a strong, unpleasant scent that's their own way of defense. The are omnivores this means they eat insects, earthworms, lizards, rodents, frogs, and salamanders.






Opossums. Opossums are marsupials native to the Americas. Opossums are able to play dead to fool predators and hang upside down. Opossums can eat vegetables, fruits, insects, carrion, and small animals.






Whale. Whales are the largest animals on Earth. They like to eat small organisms like plankton and krill.











Octopus. The octopus has eight tentacles and three hearts. Seahorse Only the daddy seahorse has the pouch for it's babies. These fish have prehensile tails.









Dolphins. Dolphins are aquatic mammals with a dorsal fin. They live in groups called pods. They communicate to find food and to stick together.
