Prologue

A gray tom-kit yelped. Three full grown cats, two toms and a she-cat, were lined up and glaring at him. "Don't do this, Fluffrail!" The she-cat whined. Fluffrail turned and glared at the she-cat, silencing her. There was tension in the air, even the tom-kit could smell it. The Riverclan intruders were attacking, and Windclan stood no chance. A tang of the blood filled the tom-kit's nose. "Dawnclaw!" He yelped. The she-cat who had whined at Fluffrail turned. The tom-kit knew the she-cat as Dawnclaw, his mother. Fluffrail and the other time growled at him.

The tom-kit squealed helplessly as Fluffrail's companion picked him by the scruff. "That'll teach Windclan to let us on their territory for tasty, meaty rabbits." The tom growled. The gray tom-kit struggled, his pale blue eyes troubled. Come, moon, help me! The kit seemed to mouth. Tiny wet droplets fell, plastering to the kit's fur, as if Starclan themselves were sad for the tom-kit. The tom-kit struggled harder, desperate this time. Then the tom-kit felt a sharp pain on his side. A Riverclan cat was nipping at his side. "Hello, Longkit." The cat whisper menacingly. "How do you know my name?" Longkit stammered, eyes a scared pool of blue. The cat growled, and Longkit struggled again. "Let me out!" The kit squealed, small paws writhing. No. The Riverclan cat mouthed, eyes narrowed angrily. We won't. Longkit felt new anger pulse him, and the tom-kit writhed again. This time, he was successful. He felt no jaws on

his scruff. He was released from Riverclan's teeth. Darting,  he raced to the nursery. Riverclan was terrifying.  Then it all happened in a flash. Gray, white, blue, red, even calico cats were attacking in a blur. But one stayed behind. A thunderclan kit named Moonkit.

Chapter 1:

Moonpaw struggled to remain calm. She was an apprentice! Gladly and proudly, Moonpaw accepted the yowls of congrats. Though one shadow hang above it. A pale blue cat was yowling, but the she-cat's voice was unheard. A cat from Starclan! Moonpaw realized. No, it wasn't any cat from starclan, it was her mother. Moonpaw felt anger creep into her. Why did Riverclan have to be so mean? Why couldn't they live Thunderclan in peace. Sadness and anger pricked at Moonpaw's heart. Her mother was a loyal warrior, but Riverclan attacked when she was a kit. They took her mother's life as a sign they were the best,
