What body system's does it affect?
Depression has affected my immune system. It has made it harder for my body to fight infections, in other words, it has made it easier for me to get sick.
Depression has also affected my digestive system. It also slowed down my digestion which has caused me to have a lot of stomach pains.
Not wanting to get up and due stuff has also had an affect on my skeletal system. Laying around all day, having no energy has weakened my bones.

Depression is a mental illness that negatively affects your whole body, mainly the way you feel and think. Depression makes you feel sad, unenergized, even makes you feel like you aren't enough or not wanted. It makes you loose interest wanting to do anything. It makes you feel like you are in a constant fog or slump. Depression is also shown differently in many different people. These type of symptoms typically last weeks on in, even months or years.
Depression Disorder and how it make you feel
Identifying signs and symptoms of depression
People may have different symptoms than I did, but some of the symptoms that I had were; Loss of interest in activities that I did, feeling sad all the time, and having less energy throughout the day.
Some other symptoms that people have are; Changes in appetite, not wanting to eat, trouble sleeping, etc.

Many people take depression very serious but some people don't really make sure that the person gets help. When I started noticing my signs, I did not want to tell my parents. I thought that it would go away but it just got worse. Eventually my parents noticed that I was not myself and I told them how I was feeling. They signed me up for counseling and made an appointment with my doctor to see if I needed medication.
How is my disorder treated?
What would have happened if I didn't get treated?
Luckily, I got treated in enough time for nothing serious to happen. But some people end up taking their own lives if they do not get treated or enough help. Some people never bounce back from their feelings and end up feeling they way the do the rest of their life if they do not get treated. It can have many different effects on people, but everyone needs to be taken care of if they are having signs of depression.
