Konya is one of the first settlements in world history. Located in the south of the Central Anatolia Region, the city became the capital of the Seljuk Empire between 1097 and 1277. Home to many Islamic scholars, Konya is a city identified with the famous Islamic scholar Mevlana. Konya is the largest city in Turkey.

Çatalhöyük, located in Çumra district of Konya province, was discovered in 1958. Scientific excavations continue extensively today. Çatalhöyük has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as of 2012. The architecture of the mound, which has a history of about 9400 years, is interesting. It is a 21 meter high mound consisting of 18 building levels. The material used in the construction of the building is adobe, wood and reed. Houses are single-storey and the entrance to the house is through a hole in the roof, via a ladder. Çatalhöyük reduces the starting date of mining in Anatolia to the Neolithic Period; It draws attention with its rich findings showing that the people of that period were engaged in gathering and hunting as well as farming. Çatalhöyük is the first settlement center to include a city plan in its wall paintings. It has been documented with the stamp seals made of baked clay that the concept of ownership started in that period. It sheds light on the history of humanity with its original findings such as the first house architecture, the first landscape painting, the mother goddess cult, and works of faith.

Kilistra, Lystra - Konya
Kilistra Ancient City is 45 kilometers south-sanitary, in the town of Hatunsaray (Lystra) in the town of Meram, in the Gökyurt Village.
History of Kilistra Ancient City: Kilistra (AD VI.-XIII. Century), which was the scene of intense settlement during the Hellenistic and Roman periods and rapidly grew in the Early Christian Period, gained an architectural texture similar to Cappadocia over time.
Kilistra Ancient City is located on the historical Royal Road (Via Sebaste). Strategically important, Lystra is one of five centers in the southern ends of the Roman Empire where Emperor Augustus made a military colony. The majority of the people of Lystra joined the new religion of Saint Paulus and Barnabas, who traveled Anatolia in the same article (49-56 AD).
Kilistra stands out with its important place in the life of St. Paulus and its valuable knowledge such as churches, chapels, monasteries, watchtowers, shelters, ancient roads, neighborhoods and ceramic workshops in terms of architecture.

Konya's 5000-Year History Sille is located 8 km from the city.
Considering the historical development in Sille, 3 important periods appear. The period before Christianity, the Christian period and the Islamic period. In the studies about where the name of Sille came from, ideas such as it came from Silene during the Phrygians period, it came from the Roman commander Sylla, and it came from Silenos. Silenos means "boiling and flowing water".
There are Christian works and Islamic works in Sille. Today it has an important place in terms of tourism.
