My left hand was sweating, a million goosebumps covered my body, my heart stopped for a second, my right hand was behind her head, holding the gun, my fingers clasping the trigger, Memories of being partners in crime ran through my head, a tear raced down my cheek. Then, “Pow!” I pulled the trigger. “Hey, my name is Lux Berrington and this what truly happened!”
Five years ago, I met a girl; little did I know she was going to change my life. Oh Maeve, blonde curly hair which fell to her shoulders, brown eyes that twinkled in the sun, a smile that can light up any room, a personality like no other, Dressed in all black leather suit no matter what time of day and a pair of black tennis which were as black as the night. From study buddies, we got closer and soon after became best friends. I learned that life at home was not as amazing as her. She had been abused all her life and together, we were simply boiling a pot of revenge, It was really tasty. Maeve wanted to kill her parents and I was up for the job to help her out. Maeve and I came up with the perfect rules for being partners in crime.

Maeve

First of all, don’t get caught! Next, make sure not to leave evidence. Thirdly, be each other’s alibi. Finally, never break our promise to turn each other in. The greatest rule of all was the last one; our whole relationship would be ruined if we broke our promise to each other! The day came to kill her parents. We planned everything perfectly from the getaway car to their time of death. I did the Math/Science stuff like calculating approximately how long to kill them, the time they were going to die and the possibility if we were going to get caught. Meanwhile, Maeve would do the action like the killing and driving the getaway car. We were better together, partners in crime and I mean that quite literally! That morning, we were both ready to back out and forget everything we were going to do since we felt a little nervous and scared if we were going to get caught. Maeve, wanted to overcome her demons but in order to do so she needed to kill them. After class, I came over as usual to study but only this time we were walking into a crime scene. On the dot, her parents came home, I knocked them out with a bat as they walked through the front door. They fell to the ground with fright running through their veins.
We pulled a tarp ahead of time, laid it out on the floor with two chairs on top. We had ropes ready to tie around them, and a meticulous plan of how they were going to die. Maeve wanted them to feel pain and hurt like they made her feel every time they would hit her and make her feel like a garbage bag in the wind. Her Sage Blade in her hand about to cut into their necks as their eyes filled with tears of shock. She killed her mom first so that her dad can see the only person he loved other than his massive ego, that was real pain. Then it was time to remove evidence. We rolled up the tarp; got rid of any sign that pointed us to ever being their then raced off to get rid of the evidence. We threw the tarp and everything else in a river 1 hour away from Maeve’s house, no one would ever find it. Our alibi was perfectly planned, since my mom was not coming home early, we were home alone studying like we normally do. We reached her house at 7:00 in time for dinner, we knew what we were going to do, Maeve practiced her acting, she was a natural. Tears rolling down her face, on her knees screaming, “Why would they kill them? Why?” in shock. As I dialed 911, in fright, well so they thought, the police rushed over.
The detective questioned us, apparently, they had a business partner who murdered them in their own home. It was our word against his in court and well we had it in the bag. Two against one! The jury stated at the end of the day, “We find the defendant guilty of all actions of murder!” The weight lifted off our shoulders, we were able to breathe freely without watching our back, we did it. We killed them and got away with murder! Maeve was “mourning” at that time but little did they know the murders were right under their noses. A week later, a suspicious paper crept under our door. I opened it in complete fear racing through my body, my heart skipped a beat as I unfolded the piece of paper. It wrote, “I KNOW YOUR SECRET!” and had the phone number in the corner. “What do we do? What will happen? Will we get caught?” All these questions flashed in and out of my head, I got Maeve from the other room and showed her the paper. “What do we do? Call it?” Maeve murmured in my ear. I dialed the number. “Hello?” I questioned as I swallowed in complete terror. “I know your secret. Kill the head of the school, Richard William. Or else I won’t stay quiet!” A mysterious, creepy voice was uttered on the other side of the phone.
