"Kate, come, your dad and I are going to the UK to have an important meeting. Can you take care of Kally?", mom's voice came from the living room.

Kate sighed and answered, "Of course, how long will you be gone this time?"

Mom said, "fifteen days."

"Fifteen days!", Kate jumped out of her 

bed and ran like a cheetah into the living room.   

Sometime later mom and dad arrived in the UK, leaving Kate and her little sister, Kally,  home alone.

Crash, a loud banging noise came from upstairs. "Kally, are you okay? What happened?" After Kate heard the noise, she rushed upstairs immediately. Oh no! Kally had demolished mom's favorite vase!

Kally is crying and I see a piece of the broken glass in her hand.  

"Are you okay?" Kate asked. Kally answered quietly, "Yes, I'm okay." Kate helped Kally take the glass out of her hand and wash her hands. 

This is only the first day, Kate thought. Kally asked Kate, "Kate, how long does mom and dad have to go this time?" Kate's answer is, "15 days." Kally was crying already, "15 days! I'm missing mommy already!" Oh no! Kally was crying again.,

This time, Kally didn’t stop crying immediately because she was really sad and disappointed. “Mom and dad have never let us stay home all alone for so long, ”Kally mumbled. Kate was really tired, so she asked Kally, ”Are you tired? Do you want to go and take a nap?” Kally answered slowly, ”I think I want to. Let’s go and take a nap together.” Great! This is just the answer that Kate wants. So they went 

to the bedroom and took a nap.

The next day, Kate got up at 5 o’clock to wash her and Kally’s dirty clothes and make breakfast, but there was no food to eat anymore. So, Kate went to the supermarket to buy some food. After Kate returned home, Kally was crying again!“Why are you crying, now?” Kate asked impatienly. “Where did you go? I woke up and saw that no one’s here. I was really scared!” Kally wailed. Kate just patted Kally on her back, stood up silently and went to cook breakfast.

Two long days passed and Kate and Kally lived normally, but good things didn’t go on. This morning, Kally woke up and was playing with her teddy bear, Mars, and Kally was being pretty naughty. Kally was dancing with him, and unfortunately, she stepped on his foot and his leg fell off. “Sister! Mars’s leg is broken! He is going to die! Help me!” Kate was washing the dishes and came to the rescue immediately. “It”s OK, I will make it’s leg perfect again.” Kate answered Kally.

Oh my god! Kate thought, I finally finished fixing this old little bear. She took it back to Kally and told her, "Now, you stay here and play with Mars. Don't go anywhere, OK? I have to go and finish today's homework." With that, Kate left the room and went to do her homework. Ten minutes passed and Kally got bored and she wanted to explore. She wanted to see the world by herself! So, she left the house quietly. When Kate finished her homework, she went out to see if Kally was okay, but Kally had vanished! Life seems to be playing a tricky game with me. Kally thought.

Really soon, dad and mom came back. "Mom! Dad", when Kally heard the door close she immediately realized that mom and dad came back. Dad and Mom ran into the house. They hugged their daughters. "We missed you so much," mom said. Kate sighed, "Oh my goodness! YOu guys finally came back. This little girl has been so hard to take care of." "It's okay, we are all back," Dad smiled. They all sat on the sofa and started playing Chess together.
