There once was a girl named Kansas. She was a brilliant young lady who never had enough courage to follow her dreams. Kansas dreamed of going to space just like her bigger sister Jupiter. Jupiter worked at NASA as an astronaut and she would gladly mentor Kansas on what it took to be an astronaut. Kansas loved it when she learned about space. But on most occasions, her classmate, Carolina, always ridiculed her for believing in such stupidity. She would say things like, "you're too little for this stuff", "you're such a dork", or "you'll never be like your bigger sister". This hurt Kansas very much.

But on a particular Thursday, Kansas and her 3rd grade class were taking a field trip to NASA. They were going to get a tour from Jupiter. This made Kansas very excited. She thought of all the wonderous things she had learned about space and how it would feel to go into space. But this was cut short by her self doubts and the harsh words Carolina instilled in her brain. As she was getting on the bus, she noticed something odd. She saw an unexpected darkness slowly casting over them. This made her suspicious.

After that long bus ride, she finally saw familiar grounds. They were at NASA and in front was her stellar sister Jupiter who was waiting to greet the class. Jupiter saw Kansas and exchanged a loving glance. Once introductions were done, the class followed close behind their guide. Something still puzzled Kansas, but whatever what was going on had to be too much for her. So, out of doubt she dismissed her theories.

Everything was going good. The class was participating in trivia questions, everyone was being kind to each other, and most of all, Carolina didn't mess with Kansas. Then all of a sudden, alarms were going off. Everyone who worked there went into havoc. No one really knew what was going on, until Kansas looked out the window. The sky was darker. She ran towards a telescope to see what was going on. Then she saw it. A gigantic asteroid heading straight towards Earth!

Ohh noooo!!

Kansas was baffled. She couldn't believe she figured it out! Then she started to think about the danger everyone was in, so she got the wild idea that she could save them all if she took the new spacecraft called, the Pew Pew 3000. It was the first ship that had lasers installed in it. But then Kansas stopped. She started thinking about the odds and the cruel thoughts that lingered in her mind. Then Kansas finally told herself, "I can do it because I believe!" She rushed to it immediately because her sister showed it to her during their lessons.

Before she could change her mind, Kansas immediately pressed the button and was blasted from the ground into the atmosphere. Everyone was in chaos because there was an asteroid coming to Earth and someone took the Pew Pew 3000!
