"Hey Gary, I was wondering if you could tell me about Christianity?"said the Sun. "Of course, I'd love to." said Gary. "First we will talk about where Christianity came from." "Christianity was founded in Israel in the 1st century after Jesus died in Israel. People who are Christian believe in the Bible and to love everyone. They also believe in the 10 commandments which is a plan for living and rules that they should follow. Mary and Joseph were Jesus's parents and after Jesus's death holidays were formed such as Christmas, Easter, and Good Friday. People who are Christians also go to a church to worship at the cross." " Well I have to go now it's getting dark." said Gary. "Thank you." said the Sun.

" Hey Derek, I got a text from Gary saying you taught him about Christianity too when I was asleep since you both live on different sides of the  world. I was wondering if you could teach me about Judaism since I know it originated here?" said the Sun. "I'd be happy to" said Derek. "Judaism was founded in the Middle East between the 20th-18th century. They believe that their God revealed himself to ancient Abraham as well as revealed to Moses the 10 commandments. Jews also believe in the covenant which is an agreement between God and his people. People started this religion because they wanted to promote 1 God. In Judaism people read Torah and worship at places called synagogues. During the first crusade many Jewish families were killed or forced to convert to Christianity." said Derek. "Very interesting." said the Sun.

"Hey Sandy, I heard you know a little bit about Islam. I'm on a journey to find out all about the religions. Could you help me?" said the Sun. "Of course!" said Sandy. "Islam was founded by Muhammed which is their prophet, in the 7th century in the Middle East. In Islam they read Qur'an or Kor'an. In this religion they have created the 5 pillars which are rules to follow if you are Muslim such as one god, pray 5 times a day, give money to those who need it, during Ramadan they don't eat to develop self-discipline, and they have to journey to Mecca at least once. They also worship at a place called a Mosque." said Sandy. "Thank you so much! I better go now." said the Sun.

"Hello Gale, I heard you know some things about Hinduism. Do you think you could fill me in a little bit?" said the Sun. "Yes I do, and yes I can." said Gale. "Hinduism is the oldest practiced religion. It came from the Indus Valley in India, but there is no founder. They believe in Vedas, which is their scripture. They also believe in a thing called Moksha which is union with Brahman, their supreme power. In Moksha if you succeed by following the rules of Karma, which decides you future fate, you get union with Brahman, but if not your soul in reborn in a cycle of a thing called reincarnation. Hinduism impacted the way of life and also created the caste system which is a class system that "limits social mobility. In Hinduism they worship at a place called Puja in a Mandir(temple)." said Gale. "Oh wow. Very interesting." said the Sun.

"Hey Chuck, I was hoping you could tell me some things about Buddhism." said the Sun."I sure can. Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism and it was founded between 4th-6th century BCE in India. Some of Buddhisms major beliefs are that you reach Nirvana which is when there is neither suffering, nor sense of self and you are released from the effects of Karma. They also believe in the 4 noble truths which are life is suffering, suffering comes from what we don't have, acceptance ends suffering, and following the 8-fold path will help achieve that. The 8-fold path is a way of living to achieve Nirvana. Buddhism has temples that people can worship at or they can at their own home." said Chuck. "Thank you so much." said the Sun.

"Can you teach me about Sikhism Barbra?" said the Sun."Yes, I can. Sikhism was created in the 14th century in India. In Sikhism, they believe in one God which means they are monotheistic. They believe in reincarnation, which is the cycle of death and rebirth, Karma, and also union with their supreme force. Sikhism was initially led by gurus, but two of them got killed for not wanting to become Muslims. Sikhism promotes meditation, equality, and peace in general. In Sikhism they believe in things such as, no drugs, no alcohol, no adultery(no cheating on your lover), and no meat. Sikhs worship at a place called a gurdwara and they all gather to worship there." "Hey Betty, I heard you have some knowledge about Animism, could you teach me?" said the Sun. "Yes I can!" said Betty. "Animism is the earliest form of religion that we know of. They believe that everything (rocks, trees, soil) has a spirit and that they effect the world around them. It was founded in 1871 by Sir Edward Tylor. Not many people practice Animism today, but it is still pretty well known. Many people say that Animism isn't considered a religion because it is kind of its own practice and belief." said Betty.
