This is Crimson the bird and he is curious about different religions.  He is going to explore his city in search of information about different religions.

This is Lou the frog, he is a Muslim and he practices Islam. Islam is an abrahamic religion that originated in Mecca (now Saudi Arabia)  in the 7th century. Islam was founded by the prophet Muhammed and created because Muhammed received teachings from the angel Gabriel. The major beliefs are based on The 5 Pillars of Islam, the first pillar is that there is only one God, Allah and Mohammed is his prophet. The second is to pray facing Mecca five times per day. The third is to give money to the needy. The fourth is to not eat in the month of Ramadan to help develop self discipline. The fifth is “Hajj” or to travel to Mecca at least once in your lifetime. “Mosques” are used for worshiping. The world and society over all has been influenced by Islam for a very long time as their beliefs have spread and grown.  They have had an impact on political beliefs and academics as well.

This is Edward the dog, he believes in Buddhism.

Buddhism was created in India around the 5th century BCE when an Indian prince named Siddhartha Gautama realized how much suffering there was in the world and tried to become more aware, compassionate, and enlightened about the world around him and the peoples suffering. Siddhartha Gautama reached Nirvana, where there is no pain, want,  or a sense of self once you reach this you are released from karma and reincarnation. Buddishists worship in a temple and believe in the 4 Noble Truths, life is suffering, suffering comes from what we don't have, acceptance ends suffering, and the 8 fold path will help with this. The 8 fold path is 8 steps that help you throughout life and help you reach Nirvana. Buddhism has impacted the world and especially influenced equality.

This is Charles the rabbit, he believes in Sikhism.

Sikhism was created in Punjab in the 14th century by Guru Nanak and was created in persecution. Sikhism is worshiped in a gurdwara. Major beliefs of Sikhism are reincarnation, karma, and uniting with the supreme force. Those who believe in Sikhism worship in a gurdwara. Sikhism has influenced equality in the world.

This is CJ the bear, he believes in Hinduism.

Hinduism was created at the Indus River Valley in 2500 BC to 1500 BC and was created from many different religions combined. The founder of Hinduism is Bramah. Hinduism is worshiped in a temple. The major beliefs are that if someone does their Dharma (duties) well by following the rules of Karma they can attain Moksha, uniting with Bramah, their gods and goddesses. If they fail  to follow the rules of karma they reincarnate (born again). Hinduism influences the case system (limited social mobility). 

This is Sandy the camel, she believes in 

Confucianism. Confucianism was created in China by Confucius in the 5th-6th century when China was struggling. People who believed in Confucianism worship in a temple. The major beliefs of Confucianism are filial piety (respecting parents) and the 4 Key Relationships, the relationship between the superior and inferior like older brother to younger brother. Confucianism impacted Chinese government and helped create the government for China based on the idea of the 4 Key Relationships.

This is Troy the turtle. He believes in 

Legalism. Legalism was created in China in 233-280 BCE, by Han Feizi when there were issues in the Chinese government to maintain order. The major beliefs of Legalism is that humans are selfish and need a strict government to thrive. The major impacts Legalism had on the Chinese government was the belief to have a strict government.

This is Jelly the kitty.  Jelly believes in Taoism. Taoism was created in China in the 6th century BCE by Laozi. Taoism was created when the Period of Warring States. People who believe in Taoism worship in a temple and believe in living in harmony and meditation.  Taoism impacted equality and created many different types of martial arts.

This is Tim the lizard.  He believes in 

Christianity. Christianity was created in the Eastern part of Ancient Rome (Middle East) in 0-30 AD by the founder Jesus. Christianity was created “According to the Bible, the first church organized itself 50 days after Jesus’s death on the Day of Pentecost—when the Holy Spirit was said to descend onto Jesus’s followers"(history of Christianity). The major beliefs are Immaculate conception, that virgin Mary had Jesus the son of God and resurrection when Jesus came back to life. Christians worship in a church. Christianity impacted the world by becoming one of the most widely practiced religions.  Christianity also became intertwined within the political realm and government.
