The Coronavirus, also known as Covid -19, is a new found infectious disease. The people that are infected with this generally have trouble breathing, a dry cough, chest pain, and the list of symptoms goes on. It has a lot of the same symptoms as if you'd have the flu. 

Covid -19 emerged in March 2020, spreading fear, anxiety, and panic not only through our community, but through the entire world. Our whole life changed, daily routines changed. I was scared of this virus and I still am. Its serious, because so many people are dying from it. I was scared that my family or I would get it.

Covid started when I was in 7th grade. We had no clue what was happening. The teachers just said to take all our books home because we had to go virtual for the remainder of the year.

Everything started to shut down, there were mask mandates everywhere. Feelings of depression, isolation, anxiety, and fear have become a daily occurrence. We took as many safety procedures as we could to make sure we didn't get the virus. We wore mask, lysoled all our groceries and always washed and sanitized our hands after we touched something.

So in September of 2020 we had went back to school with safety procedures like mandatory mask, temperature checks, distance of 6 feet, no hands on activities and Plexi glass to slow the spread of Covid in schools. 

By May 2021 we thought everything had died down with covid so we didn't wear mask anymore. But unfortunately we were wrong. There was a new covid strain out called "Delta Variant" that was affecting kids more than adults, so of course they came out with a vaccine for covid -19, and many people got it even though it wasn't FDA approved and had many side effects with it.

 Now its August 2021 and we are still living in this world of Covid, yep that's right a whole year and a half of this pandemic and still more years to come, because I dont think its ever leaving.
