Rainy Day (Sarah)

It was one of those days when it’s so humid, it’s to the point where you can feel the water in the air. That’s how I always thought of it. I was getting ready to go cave exploring. I really love hiking, and I love caves even more. I had to walk 1.2 miles to get to the caves, though. Luckily for me, that isn’t that far. The only hard thing was that it was on the side of a cliff. I had been driving around for a little while and it was starting to look stormy.

It was also starting to turn into winter, so it was getting dark. It started pouring. At the time, it was 5:42 PM. Suddenly, a car appeared in front of me. I didn’t have time to react or do anything. I ended up hitting the car, and then it went pitch black. 

Bumper Cars (Joshua)

I was driving at night, one time. It was a dark night, to be exact. It was somewhere around 5:45. I don’t really remember too well. All I remember was driving around in the dark, on a rainy night, and then, suddenly, a car crashed into me. I got out of my car, bloody-nosed, to see if the other person was ok. When I looked inside, my heart dropped.

It was my friend from collage, Sarah. We were both college sophomores, and we were still just kids. I yelled her name over the pouring rain, but there was no answer. I opened her car door to see if she was okay, but she was knocked out, and her arm seemed weird. It was almost like it was out of place. I got in the car and took her out, but when I turned around to go to my car and get help, I was amazed.

I was at the cave site. The only reason I was driving in the rain was because I was going to go cave exploring. Me and Sarah loved cave exploring. I took a closer look to see how deep down it went. The caves we were going to were weird. It almost went straight down. You needed a ladder to get into the caves. Luckily, I brought one. Unluckily, (Very, very unfortunately) I fell into the cave, with Sarah still in my arms. 

Into The Caves (Sarah)

When I woke up, I felt horrible. I had a horrible headache, and my arm felt like it was going to fall off. I could barely move, and I was on my stomach. The ground I was on was cold and wet, and it seemed to be made of stone. I heard strange noises coming from the left side of me, and immediately rolled over, but I was distracted by what I saw when I looked up. 

I saw what seemed to be a shoe, and maybe a glove. But I screamed in horror when I realized that there was a dead body above me! I tried to get up, but I couldn’t. Something was holding me back. There were vines growing around my body! Where was I, and how long had I been there? I looked to my left and saw a pocketknife. I grabbed it and cut myself free.

Subzero (Joshua)

I woke up underwater. Out of instinct, I tried to take a breath. I took a huge gulp of water, and then realized where I was. I swam to the surface, needing a breath of air badly, and when I hit the top, I saw a layer of ice. I saw the cracks reforming where I had fallen in and tried to break them. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t break. I swam back to the bottom, looking for something to help me.

I laid my hand onto an axe, and it cut my hand open, and at this point I was almost accepting fate. I started seeing the colors of the rainbow, and my eyes were drifting closed. Before I could let myself die, I grabbed the axe, swam to the surface, and used all my last strength to swing the axe underwater and break the ice. Miraculously, it worked. I popped my head above water and climbed to the surface, breathing like a maniac.

I coughed out all the water, an took a moment to lay down on the ice and rest. “I can’t believe I just did that.” I thought to myself. I got up and looked around, only to remember I had fallen into a cave. I was trapped and saw no way out. I looked at my hand. It was bleeding everywhere. But I knew there had to be a way out, considering I had fallen in from the outside. I looked up and saw the smallest hole. Then, I saw a broken ladder. 

Writing On the Wall (Sarah)

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” I screamed in terror as these mysterious people dragged me towards the writing on the walls. I was a college kid! I had no intention of being dragged away by people with tattoos all over their bodies, hundreds of bracelets, and uncountable amounts of clothing. They acted like they were in Antarctica! Though, to be fair, it was cold down there.

Suddenly, I heard a rumbling noise. Then, everything started to shake. Rocks and pebbles started flying. The walls started caving in. And finally, when I was about to get crushed, it all stopped. The pebbles fell, the walls stopped moving, and the rumbling noises and shaking had ended. I looked back at the writing, but it was gone. Now all there was a hallway that looked like it never ended. 

Mysterious Voice (Joshua)

I instantly grabbed the ladder and put it on the wall. Without caring about what could happen to my hand, I started climbing. When I got to the top of the ladder, I could almost reach into the hole – but no. Suddenly, I heard a mysterious voice. I jumped, and fell off the ladder, into the ice, and back into the water. I swam back onto the ice, being more careful this time. I heard footsteps, but... it was coming from the water!

“Hello, Joshua.” I spoke. I then shot him in the back. He fell into the water, and I froze the ice above him. Now that he was dead, I could move on to Sarah. I already knew where she was, I just had to get there. I summoned my true abilities and teleported there. Then, I saw who she was with. 

The End of Joshua (Joshua)

Whatever it was, it shot me! It was the worst pain I had ever experienced. As soon as I fell in, I could barely move. I went to go back up, but all I saw was shards of ice coming from the mysterious person’s hand, forming the outer layer and trapping me. I swam back to the bottom, looking for the axe again, but as I hit the bottom, I started feeling hazy, and no longer had the strength to go back up.

I reached my hand up, said my last words, and my story had ended. At least, that’s what I thought.

Waking Up (Joshua)

I woke up on the side of the road, and it looked like I was at the very spot where me and Sarah’s cars had crashed. I got up and looked around, realizing it was starting to rain. I also noticed that I was next to the caves. Out of nowhere, I saw my car rushing past me and into another oddly familiar-looking car. Then, they crashed, and it finally hit me. I went over to my car, curious to see what would emerge, but then I got out of the car.

Me! And I was standing right there! The other me went over to see if Sarah was ok, calling out her name. “Sarah! Joshua! Can you hear me? It’s you!” I cried out, but there was no response. I went to go touch the other me, but my hand went right through my other body. I looked down at my hands, trembling with fear, shivering in the cold dark night, when I heard the voice. 

Final Fight (Sarah)

“JOSHUA!” I tried to cry underwater, but it was useless. Nobody could hear me now. I reached up for the surface, emerged from the icy waters, and I saw the mysterious figure again. “You...” I said, with anger. “Who are you?” it grinned. "I'm nobody. Nobody you want to know.” I slowly grew angrier and angrier. “You... you killed him, didn’t you? And you’re the one who said something about a big bed!”

When they tried to stop me this time, I hit them with the icicle. They yelled in terror as they fell back onto the ice. I went over to finish it off, but the cry suddenly turned into a laugh. They got back up and pulled the icicle out of their chest, throwing it in my direction. I quickly ducked, and the icicle chopped off part of my hair. I looked back to see the icicle, but when I turned forward the figure jumped at me and tackled me to the ground.
