The goal is to ensure that the audience realizes that we all may be different, but we have our own uniqueness whether it is to be tall or short. This book will be children and family friendly for all ages, to inspire children and adults to accept and value themselves and to realize that everyone is unique in their own ways.

Hi! My name is Penelope, and this is my best friend Grover.

Today is the first day of school. We are very nervous but we can't wait to make friends.
This is our school. It is red and has a big bell on top.

There are many students who are also arriving. Many are sad and nervous but our teacher makes us feel welcome. My classroom looks very colorful. There are many students who are also arriving. Many are sad and nervous, but the teacher makes us feel welcome.

This is my teacher. Her name is Ms. Amelia. She is very nice! She introduced herself by singing a song and playing her guitar.
Her song went a little like this…
Hello hello hello everyone
My name is Ms. Amelia
A-M-E-L-I-A
Nice to meet you all today!
Hello hello hello everyone
My name is Ms. Amelia

After she sang her song, she gave us all our assigned seats. I am very small, so my teacher told me to sit in the front, but Grover sits that the back because he is very tall. “Although I am very tall, I cannot see the board. I wish I was as small as Penelope, that way I can sit in front with my best friend!” says Grover.

Ms. Amelia taught us how to add and subtract. She also teaches us how to free write in our journal that she gave us. Our favorite class is recess because we get to play with a ball and play on the school playground.
During math class, Ms. Amelia wrote the problem 55+67=____ on the board and was calling on random students to answer the question. “Grover” she says, “Can you tell me what the answer to the problem is?”
55+67=?
Grover could not see the board! He was squinting and trying his absolute best to see the board, but it would not work. “Um, I’m unable to see the board Ms. Amelia.” Ms. Amelia reads the problem out loud for Grover since he can’t see the board clearly.

Grover was able to answer loud and clearly after taking a few seconds to solve the math problem in his notebook. “122!” he shouted. “Great work Grover!” replied Ms. Amelia. Although Grover did answer the question correctly, he felt quite embarrassed that he was unable to see the board and could not move up because he was too tall.
