One day before school, Campbell got an idea.

Campbell announced that he was going to be the first kid to run for president.

Campbell went home after school and told his mom that he wanted to run for president. She said that she was excited and wanted to help him out.

Hi Campbell, my name is Dan and I'll be helping you on your journey to the White House. I'm someone called a campaign manager
So, Campbell's mom took him to see a man named Dan, who said he would be there to help Campbell during throughout his journey to become president.

Dan explained that Campbell would need to be nominated as someone who would run for office for the party of his choice. Dan said the official term for Campbell would be a candidate in the presidential election

Campbell and his mother met with a lady named Karen, who represented the Democratic Party right in their hometown. Karen said she would love to make history and help a kid become the first president. Karen said that Campbell and his mom would need to attend the Democratic National Convention in order to be considered for a place in the presidential race.

Campbell, determined to put his name on the ballot and become a candidate, flew to where the Democratic National Convention was being held. New York!

Dan, Karen, Campbell's mom and Campbell make it to New York City and make their way inside of the Javits Center, New York City's convention center and the place of the Democratic National Convention.

Dan, Karen, Campbell's mom, and Campbell traveled inside of the place that all the Democrats who wanted to run for office would be speaking. Campbell suddenly became nervous and questioned his ability to run for office, but his mom said, "I'll make sure you have the best speech out of everyone, honey."

Campbell and his mom stayed up very late making sure Campbell had the best speech anyone will ever hear.

Campbell gave his speech in front of a large crowd of people, receiving a standing ovation in return. Campbell was sure he'd get the nomination and become a candidate.

After the National Convention, Karen came to talk with Campbell and his mom about what comes next. She explained the Democrats would have a caucus and a primary, which is when the people and Democrats decide who they want to run for president.
