Challenge Question
There are 45 students in 6th grade band. The simplified ratio of girls to boys is 3:2. Five girls are absent on Tuesday.
Decide if each statement about the band class is true or false:
1. The ratio of girls to boys on Tuesday is 9:11
2. On Tuesday, there are 22 girls in band class.
3. There are usually 27 girls and 18 boys in band.
4. On a day when every student is in class, there are twice as many girls as boys.

For this project you will work with a partner to create your own "(not so) Boring Math Book" about unit rates.
Your book must include:
-Essential vocabulary and definitions relevant to unit rates.
- 3 Tasks/Activities relevant to unit rates.
- A challenge question relevant to unit rates.

3. You may work with a partner on this project.
4. This project is due Friday, January 14. You will be given time in class to work on your project. If you do not use your time productively, you will be responsible for finishing on your own time. No late project will be accepted.
