This book is dedicated to my History teacher Mr. Layman

Once upon a time in the faraway land of France were two leaders Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
They had absolute power over France which we would call an absolute monarch.
The people of France were all divided in three social classes called estates which included the clergy, nobles, and peasants.
The clergy contained the priests. This estate makes up around 100,000 of the population and owned 6% of the land in France.
The nobles make up the 2nd estate made up about 400,000 of the population and owned 20% of the land.
The third and final estate consists of the peasants and higher upper-middle class. The lower class makes up 24,000,000 of the population and owned 35-40% of all the land in France.
France had the coldest winter in decades which lasted from November to March. This effected the crops for the following year.
Now that France was completely in debt and the people were hungry they needed to come up with a solution.
Louis Knowing that France must do something he called for the people to come together and vote with each estate getting one vote. The verdict was that the third estate will pay more taxes and the first and second wouldn't have to pay anything.
The third estate became inraged with this verdict. They then decide they will not stop until they are treated equally or until a new system was adopted. x;
The people had finally had enough, they wanted to rebel but now all they need is weapons. So they went to Bastille and raided the prison of all their ammunition.
The government getting worried that the majority would become hostile. They decided that they would give the people a written contract called the declaration of the rights of men.
Thinking that the nobles are keeping bread stored away made these women angry. So they decided to attack Versailles to take back any bread they had.
