The NAEYC Code of Ethics are like the Golden Rules of working with children and families in Child Care.

There are four different sections of the Code of Ethics that give you ideas and principles.
Let`s take a look at each one of the sections:

Section 1
Ethical Responsibilities to children
We are responsible and committed to ensuring that all children have a safe, healthy, nurturing environment in which they can live, learn, play and work together with others cooperatively. We also are committed to promoting self-awareness, competence, self-worth, resiliency and physical well being.

I just want a place where I can have fun and learn....
Please be nice and don`t harm me..... I want to be loved!!
Section 2
Ethical Responsibilities to Families
Families are of primary importance in children`s development. The family and the early childhood practitioner have a common interest in the child's well-being. We acknowledge a primary responsibility to bring about communication, cooperation, and collaboration between the home and early childhood program in ways that enhance the child's development.

Family is EVERYTHING.....
They depend on us.
Section 3
Ethical Responsibilities to Colleagues
In a caring, cooperative workplace, human dignity is respected, professional satisfaction is promoted, and positive relationships are developed and sustained. OUr primary responsibility to colleagues is to establish and maintain settings and relationships that support productive work and meet professional needs. The same ideals that apply to children also apply as we interact with adults in the workplace.
