I dedicate this book to everyone struggling with insecurity. It doesn't matter how you look, because, with age, your looks will fade anyways. Your heart, however, will stay, so you need to take care of it.

When Anna was 9, she wanted to become a model. She definitely could become a model. Anna had long legs and a beautiful face. Back then, Anna knew that she was pretty.

Other girls were jealous of Anna because Anna did not have to put on makeup to be beautiful. They began to tease Anna. They made fun of her long legs and said her face was ugly.
Soon, people stopped bullying Anna. But something strange happened. Anna had a voice inside her head that was never there before. It was telling her that people would not like her and that she was not pretty at all. Anna had a bully inside of her own head.

Years later, the voice convinced Anna that she was not good enough to become a model, so she was forced to give up her dream. She also wore a hat everywhere she went to hide her face, because the voice told her that she was ugly.

At school, everyone thought Anna was strange. They wondered why she wore a hat to hide her beautiful face. Everyone knew that Anna was beautiful. Anna was the ONLY person who could not see any beauty in herself.

?

One day, Anna met a boy named Aaron. Anna had been too nervous to talk to anyone in months. After a while, they became great friends.

However, one day while Aaron and Anna were walking to school, she accidently ran into a student and he fell in the mud. The student was yelling at Anna, and he said he looked like a monster because of her. Instead of apologizing, Anna became very upset and said, "Well, you may think you're ugly now, but I've never been beautiful!" She stomped off.

Anna went into the woods, and suddenly started to cry. She felt horrible about herself. The mean voice in her head told her, You've never been beautiful. I can't believe how ugly you are.. Anna listened to this voice, and believed it. She cried and cried until Aaron found her in the woods and sat next to her.
