Dağlı İlkokulu-Erdemli-Türkiye

The children, who went on a nature tour as a class, came across this big and wise tree. Oak trees caught their attention.

The tree was amazing as it was almost 20 meters heigh and 2 meters wide. It was probably over a hundred years old.
Children found a lot of acorns hiding between the leaves. They started wondering if it was possible to grow an oak tree from the acorns. Would it be possible for the acorn to grow over a million times its size?

There were plenty of acorns !!! They were beautiful and
healthy. The children started
to gather them with the hope that they would use them to plant them. Not far away, they saw little stalks with oak leaves and decided to grow a tree from an acorn! elsewhere. They collected a lot of acorns!

Their teachers tell the children that the oak tree is very durable and long-lived and does not shed its leaves for four seasons. He says that the oak tree is home to many living things in nature. The teacher also says that the acorn is edible and has many benefits. Children listen to their teachers with interest and attention. They want to go to school as soon as possible and plant the acorns they have collected in the garden.

The kids wondered how the small oak trees grew so far from the big oak tree. the teacher told the children that the acorns could be carried away from the tree by animals. Quite unexpectedly, a small brown squirrel ran through the thick trunk of the oak tree. The squirrel took the acorn and hurried back to the oak. The children looked around and saw a small hole in the oak trunk. One boy exclaimed:
-Maybe the squirrel carried the acorns away from the tree and they grew up there?"

However, the squirrel did not return for a long time, the children got tired and laid on the green grass under the oak. Tried to count the branches of the tree, but there were too many of them. Then the children decided to just relax: they listened to the birds chirping , looked at the clouds, and let the sun gently touch their faces.

When the squirrel saw the children by the tree, it got scared and hid. Meanwhile, the children were tired of waiting and fell asleep. One of the children woke up as the squirrel took the opportunity and slowly made his way towards the hollow tree. When he saw the squirrel in front of him, he asked why he was collecting acorns here.
The squirrel said, 'I didn't have any bad intentions, I'm saving the acorns I've collected in this tree hollow so that I can feed my babies on cold winter days.'
