Once upon a time there was a spoiled Prince named David. He had no manners and never said please or thank you. He was never even sorry for anything wrong, or bad that he did. His parents never disciplined him because he was next in line to be king.
On Prince David's birthday the villagers were lined up out the door to give the Prince Birthday presents. With each gift the Prince never said thank you. The loyal villagers would bow and walk away without reaction. They were use to the Prince being rude. It was just the way he was.
A friendly witch that lived just beyond the village decided to bring the Prince a gift. She was really happy to take it to him and thought he would really like it, but when it was her turn in line to give him a gift he threw it over his shoulder and into the pile of gifts behind him. He never even gave it thought. The witch was surprised and asked him what the problem was. Prince David laughed in her face and told her there was nothing she could give him, he already had everything.
The friendly witch's feelings were hurt and she showed it in a single tear that fell from her eye. The Prince saw the tear and laughed more at her. He told her she was acting like a baby over a dumb present. He didn't care at all about her feelings, or anyone else's . Thats when she decided to cast a spell on him. She pulled out her wand and turned him into a Dragon. She told David that she had turned him into a creature as mean as him.
Everyone ran from the room including the now Prince Dragon. He saw his reflection and couldn't handle people seeing him this way. He ran into the woods until he found a cave and pushed his way to the deepest part where he was stuck. He then fell asleep. The Fairy had followed him and decided to give him a second chance. She cast a spell for him to sleep for 100 years. If he could learn to be kind after he woke up, he could turn back into a human but never again be a Prince. No one would ever remember him.
100 years later a curious village girl had walked into the woods to pick some berries and flowers. She didn't fear anything. She had taken a new path on this walk and it led her to the very cave where the dragon lay sleeping. The girl heard snoring and decided to investigate. It was no animal she had ever learned about or seen. She needed to know what made this sound, so off she went.
After a lot of walking the girl had come to a sleeping dragon. It looked so harmless while it was sleeping. A bat swooped down passed her and startled her causing her to dump her basket full of berries. This caused the Dragon to wake up. The girl did not notice because she was picking up the berries that spilled. The Dragon did notice her though.
