Milestones
Usually, children achieve developmental milestones in a natural, predictable order. However, every kid develops at a different rate. It is not uncommon for your child to excel in one area, such as language, but lag behind in another, such as motor skills.
Cognitive Milestones (4-8)
1. Better understand concepts of time
Preschoolers have a difficult time understanding time. Children require multiple opportunities to experience and understand this abstract concept, as it is such an abstract concept.

Cognitive Milestone
2. Can name some colors.
A child's ability to learn colors depends on overexposure. It is helpful to tell them the colors' names frequently, ask them the colors' names, and see them often.

Cognitive Milestone
3. Tells what comes next in a well-known story
Children are reading simple stories, by sounding out unknown words.

Cognitive Milestone
4. Can say their first and last names
When your child listens to others, he or she learns how words are pronounced and how sentences are constructed. This is also a good time for them to learn their first and last names.
