Creating this
story wouldn't
have been
possible without
your myth about
Hercules and his
twelve labors.

Elsa and Little Elsa were sleeping peacefully in their shared bed.

It was as if a light switch flicked on in Elsa's mind, and a deep, gruff voice spoke. It had never
happened before, but Elsa was not afraid. Of
course, she was asleep, but still...

Elsa...If you want to prove yourself worthy of a superhero-like girl, the voice rasped, like Hercules, you must do 12 nearly impossible tasks. I will guide you in your head.
"Can...can Little Elsa come too?" Elsa murmured in her sleep, talking to the voice. She was not frightened of the sound. It was offering her a deal! Although it was
sudden,
it was
exciting!

The voice hesitated. Then she, too, will prove herself worthy. Are you sure you want that to happen?
"She wants to become...superhero too," Elsa replied, still sleeping.

Silly girl, the voice growled. You are not to become a superhero. You're just proving to me you are superhero-like.
"I want to be superhero-like," Elsa whispered.

Then listen to me!
"Yes..."
Good. When you wake, persuade your parents to go to your grandparents' pool.
"So many...so many miles..." Elsa muttered. "They live...far away."

Persuade them!
"Yes," Elsa answered quickly in her sleep.
Once you are There, jump into the pool, and you will go into what is called Oceano de Muerte.
"Yes," Elsa said, speaking in an undertone, asleep.
Do not fail me, the voice warned. You will wake now.
"Yes," Elsa whispered, and then she woke up.

"Little Elsa," Elsa said, shaking Little Elsa to wake her.
"Yes?" Little Elsa asked groggily.
"We're doing 12 almost impossible tasks," Elsa warned.

Little Elsa wasn't convinced. "So our grandparents' pool is going to turn into the ocean, called Oceano de Muerte?" she asked disbelievingly.

"Yes, I'm TELLING YOU," Elsa pleaded. "But...now that I think about it, what I'm telling you sounds kind of far-fetched."
"But is it true?" Little Elsa asked sternly. Elsa nodded fervently. "Well, in that case..." Little Elsa paused. "Let's get going!"

Somehow, the girls persuaded their parents to go to the pool. They drove for forty-five minutes. Bubby did not want to bring his bathing suit, or even swim in the pool, as the pool was cold, and he hated chilly things.
Once they got there, they splashed in!
And the whole world turned black.
Light poured into the world again, and they weren't in the pool! They were in the middle of the ocean!

The girls were stunned. Too stunned to speak. Finally, treading water, Elsa spoke.
"What the..." she whispered. Suddenly, Little Elsa gripped Elsa's arm tightly.
"Concentrate, Elsa," she muttered in her ear.
Swim across the ocean, Elsa and Little Elsa, the voice spoke with firm gentleness. Elsa felt the need to obey.
"Yes," she murmured. The voice didn't speak again, so she turned to Little Elsa. "We have to swim across the ocean."

Little Elsa almost screamed. Instead, she spoke in a loud voice, but not quite yelling. "HOW in the WORLD could we possibly DO THAT? Don't we get ANY ASSISTANCE at ALL?"
The waves grew strong. They pushed the girls.

Elsa hears a voice in her mind, saying that she and Little Elsa have to go on twelve labors, just like Hercules! The purpose of the labors is to prove they're worthy of the title "superhero," however, they won't be a superhero COMPLETELY. Still, the girls accept the deal. What will the outcome be?
In real life, if you hear a voice talking to you while you're sleeping, it was just your dream. Do not try this at home.
