Larry the lion and his family just moved to a new town. Larry is starting a new school there and is very nervous. He doesn’t know anyone since they moved on just two weeks notice for his dad’s new job. Larry is very worried about starting his new school. So his mom took him to see the new school to help calm his nerves.

This place is great right?
What will my teachers be like or the other kids?
When they got to the school. Larry's mom took him around and he seemed very worried in this unfamiliar environment. Larry was very worried about the new situation. So he proceeded to ask his mom a lot of questions. He said, "What will my teacher be like? Will the kids be nice? Will anyone want to play with me? Will I like the lunch food? Will it be fun like my old school?"

Let's play a game?
No. I want to be alone.

After the short time touring the new school the two came home for dinner and family activities. When they get back from the school Larry doesn't want to play with his sister or watch tv. It seems as if he just wants to be alone. Sally his sister asks him, "Do you wanna play a board game with us?"
"No. I want to be alone." said Larry as he runs off into the corner.

The school was great. Everybody seemed so nice.
After the family activities, the family sits down for dinner. During the Dinner Larry's Mom tells the family how nice and new the school looked. They then asked Larry what he liked about the school. He stayed very quiet and kept to himself most of the meal.

I don't feel so well.
It is ok to feel funny and not right.
Then as everyone was almost done eating Larry says, "I feel really sweaty and my stomach hurts."
His mom tells him, " It is ok to feel funny and not right. This is a big change and it is ok to be nervous. Do you want to talk about your feelings?"

Why am I sweaty? Why does my tummy hurt? Why don’t I feel OK? My head hurts.
Larry excuses himself and goes to his room and lies down on his bed. Larry's dad comes in to see if he is OK. Larry's asks his dad, "Why am I sweaty? Why does my tummy hurt? Why don’t I feel OK? My head hurts."

It is just a bump in the road. Larry it is OK to be scared. All people get worried at certain times. I was scared when I started my new job.
Larry's dad, who happens to be a psychologist, explains that Larry has anxiety and that he is just worried about a new situation. He then says to Larry, "It is just a bump in the road.
Larry it is OK to be scared. All people get worried at certain times. I was scared when I started my new job."
