The Loch Ness monster is a famous monster.

It is a Mystery .
A monster is a big and strong animal.
The word Loch is Scottish and means lake.

Loch Ness is the name of a famous lake .
Ness is in Northern Scotland. It is an old long lake.

What is in the deep water of the Loch?

The Loch Ness monster is Nessie. Nessie is a common name in Scotland.

Several people saw a monster in the Loch Ness.

In 1934, Mr John McLean sees the creature in the lake and draws it.

In the same year, a man showed a photograph of the monster. Later in, after the second world war a lot of people go to the lake and try to photograph the monster. In one picture we can see the monster and the Castle of Loch Ness.

In 1960, Tim Dinsdale makes a short film with the monster.

People can see a creature in the water but the mystery remains.

Is the Loch Ness monster a plesiosaur?
Scientists put tape recorders near the lake and hear sounds of a big animal.

A strange creature is there. That is a fact.

Anne Harrison goes to work to The Grange as a private nurse

The famous writer Kitty Blakemore is not really ill Anne is told.

She is just a hypochondriac.

Nevertheless Anne found a scared old sick woman surrounded by a number of servants who hate her. She believes she is being poisoned.

The morning after Kitty is found dead. Who is the murderer?

He needed money for the church.

Book made with some pieces of work by Portuguese students and their voice recordings. The 3 books have been read at the school library in collaboration with the EFL teachers. Loch Ness and The adventures of Tom Sawyer with 10-11 year-olds and A Taste of Murder with a group of 13-14-year-old pupils.
The map on the cover was created in a Google Maps session with the older ones together with the ICT teacher.
