
Acrophobia is the fear of heights. When you have acrophobia you may start to feel very scared and uncomfortable. If you go to
the fair with your friends, you will more than likely not ride
anything because you are scared of being up high. A lot of kids
are scared of heights.

Broca's area is a spot in your brain that helps us be able to speak. This is in the front of your brain. If this was removed
from the brain it would make the way we talk very different.
This is a very important part in our brain.

Conscious is when you understand yourself and everything
around you. If you went to the dentist and got a tooth pulled,
when you wake up you may not be conscious because they put you
to sleep so you couldn't feel anything. When you wake up you might
not understand anyone or even yourself. Once you have been up
for a while and your head isn't dizzy then you will finally be conscious.

Depression is when you feel really sad and feel there is nothing
else you can do in this world. A lot of people fall into depression
when they lose someone they love. This affects how you feel. You
may feel lazy or you may not want to eat that much anymore. Just
because you're sad doesn't mean you are depressed, it's when the
sadness doesn't go away.

Episodic Memory is a when you remember a certain event that happened in your life. You remembering what you ate for breakfast
yesterday is an episodic memory. This is one of the three types of
memories. Another part of this memory is a flashbulb memory,
which is when you remember something that is very important to
you like if a family member passes away.

Fetus is when a baby is first made in your mom's belly.
This is when you're unborn in your mom's belly for 9 weeks after you were made.
A baby and a fetus are very different.
A baby is when you are born and a fetus is unborn.

Grasping reflex is when you a baby is grabbing onto something touches the palm of their hand. When you were a little baby and
your mom touched your hand with their finger you responded by
grabbing it. This reflex goes away after 3-4 months. The baby isn't
really trying to grab anything, it is just a reflex.

Hypochondria is when a person has an obsession with the fear that that are very sick. If a person with hypochondria has started
to have a cough they are going to overthink and think they have
cancer. If they started to sneeze they may think they have covid.
Most of the time there is nothing actually wrong with them they just
really think something bad is happening to them.

Insight is when you out of no where find the answer to a problem. If you are taking a test and don't know the answer a suddenly start
to remember the answer that's insight. You have been trying to
figure out what you want for your birthday, and while you are in
class you know that you want a new phone. Insight can come at
anytime.

Just-world phenomenon is when people believe that the world is fair to everyone. They believe that whatever happens to you is what
you deserve. So, they think that is a person got killed it was really
their fault and they deserved it. The people that believe in this also
believe if a person was attacked for the color of their skin it was
deserved.

Kleptomania is when people feel the need to steal when they don't really need it. They will just go in a store and see something they
don't even need and just steal it. This condition can't go away but
you can go to therapy and get medication. This also happens to
women more.

Left Hemisphere is the part of the brain that controls language
and logic. It also needed for problem solving and math. So, when
you're in math class and solving problems you are using the left
hemisphere of your brain. Even when you are talking to your
friends and family.

Midbrain is the middle part of your brain. It controls your seeing and hearing. This part allows us to see everything and hear.
It also helps us be able to move around.

Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder, This is when someone can just be doing anything and out of no where they fall asleep. The causes
people with this disorder a hard time with their life because it's so
random when they fall asleep. This is very rare to have.

Ocd is obsessive-compulsive disorder.It's an disorder when a person can't stop thinking or doing the same thing over and over
again. This is an obsession with doing
things multiple times until you feel fine. This is a common disorder.
An example is over cleaning and washing your hands.

PTSD is post traumatic stress disorder. It's when you have fear and want to avoid certain things from a past event. This is
common in people who were in the military. Certain sounds can
trigger and cause them to remember something they didn't want to
and can be really scary. This can happen 6 months after the event.
