But this is wrong. A cocoon is a structure made out of silk. But a chrysalis is a caterpillar's own body. Also, if you are wondering, certain moths create cocoons. But not even all moths make cocoons. Okay, so we found out what a chrysalis is, and we found out what a cocoon actually is, but here is how to take care of a monarch chrysalis. So what you need to do first, is let the monarch chrysalis sit there for about two days. This is how long it takes for a monarch chrysalis to harden. Before two days, the monarch chrysalises are very soft. But when it hardens, make sure that you put it in an area where the temperature is moderate. If it's too hot, than the chrysalis will over heat, and die.
