Facts

India is part of the biggest continent in the word, Asia.  The official name is "The Republic of India". And their capital city is "New Delhi". 

India is a peninsula that means there is water on three sides but still attached on land.

The money use in India is called Indian Rupee.

People in India are called Indians.

Facts

The popular language in India is called Hindi. And some Indians also speak English.

Indians say "namaste"  and bow their head when they meet people to show respect to them.

India is the only country that has both lions and tigers.

India's national animal is Bengal Tiger and their national bird is the Indian Peacock. 

Facts

The Indian Peacock is a big and beautiful bird and has patterns on its tail that make their tail to stand up and make an amazing show. 

Also their national fruit is Mango. And the national flower is the Indian Lotus.

India was the first country to make flushing toilet. They also make the first shampoo to clean the hair and the first buttons for their clothes. And lastly they make a lot of fun games like snakes and ladders and chess too.

               Landforms of India

Mountain Region - Himalayan Mountains

The Himalayan Mountains are cool in summer and snowy in winter. It is the highest mountain in the world.

 Northern Plains - Jungle

There are lots of farm in this place. It also have a so many rains and the wind is so strong.

The Great Indian Desert - Thar Desert

The Thar Desert is very hot in the day and very cold in the night. This place is also very dry. You can find 23 species of lizards and  25 species of snakes in here.

  The Southern Region - Deccan Plateau

It rains so much in the Southern Region of India. It is also warm in this place and good for planting rice because it will grow so good.

The Southern Region - Western and Eastern Ghat Mountain

                             Animals of India

Elephant

Elephant  is about 8 cars in weight. They eat 300kgs of food a day. Elephant is the biggest animal on land. Elephant uses their trunk  like hands or a water bottle. 

Bengal Tiger

Bengal Tiger is the national animal of India. The Indians believe that the Bengal tiger is the vehicle of the Hindu god called Durga who creates the energy of life and great in battles and ride the tiger in battles.

Cow

The cow is the mother of all gods and they roam free in India. They are consider a gift from the god. 

If you hurt or kill a cow, you will go to jail because it is banned from the country because it is like you are destroying the mother of all gods.

Monkey

Monkeys in India are believed to be god called Hanuman. Hanuman is the god of power and strength. Now, there are so many monkeys that are making a lot of trouble in the city like destroying power lines, scattering papers, stealing food and they also ride the bus.

Cobra

Cobra represents death and rebirth because of the shedding of the skin and growing of a new one. Also the snake charmer uses the charmer's flute to make some music to charm the cobra and make it to sway from side to side. 

The Hindu festival of praying to the cobra is called Nag Panchami.

Indian Peacock

The Indian Peacock is the national bird of India. It has a wonderful, pretty and colorful tail that can stands out to make a beautiful show.

Aloo Paratha

           Foods & Snacks  from India

It is like flat bread that have some achaar where you dip it in if you want it. The ingredients of making achaar is pickled mango.

  Panipuri

Panipuri has multiple part in it. The first step in eating the panipuri is poke a hole with your finger or thumb. Next is put the dry stuff inside and next is put the water with spices and chickpeas inside and enjoy eating it.

Lamb Vindaloo

So lamb vindaloo is for dinner and there is rice and meat and sprinkle with onion leaves.

Ras Malai

Ras Malai is a dessert in India. It taste like mochi and ice cream but very soft.

 Kurkure 

Kurkure have a funny flavor called naughty tomato and is very hot.

 Spicy Banana Chips 

The spicy banana chips is a banana that are sliced and fried and taste so spicy.

Soan Papdi

Soan Papdi is a snack made of sugar, flour and milk. The texture is hard on the outside and soft in the inside. The taste is very sweet.

Kaju Katli

Kaju Katli is a snack made of one ingredient called cashew that is soak in water.  The shape of it is diamond.

         Transportation in India

Train

India's train have a lot of furniture where people relax and sleep on it. There is power points where you can recharge your gadgets like cellphones, laptops and tabs. you need tickets when you board on a train.

Boats

They use boats where there are lakes, rivers and ocean. Some are used for fishing and travelling.  Some boats are decorated pretty and you can stay overnight on it.

Auto Ricksaw 

The Auto Ricksaw  have 3 wheels and some has meters for your fare like a taxi. It is also called a tuk-tuk.
