Hi, my name is Antonio.

Hi, my name is Josephina and we are going to tell you about our day in school.
Our school is a Head Start. We are children 3 yrs. old to 5 yrs. old. When we come to school the first thing we see is our name on our own cubby. We put our jacket and back bag on the hook and enter the classroom.


When we enter the classroom, we find our name card and place at the school section. We mark how we feel today and answer the Question of the Day.

In the morning as we wait for friends to come, we pick a book to look at and read. When we are all here we sing the morning song and we do Literacy and numerously learning.







After breakfast, we brush our teeth, go potty and then go outside. We explore what we see out on the playground like the trees, ants, sun, birds flying, and shadows.



Back inside the school, we do "Small Groups". At small groups, we use our brains. That is part of cognitive development. We are given paper and pencil or markers and we are encouraged to draw or write, "What did you see today outside? or What did you learn today? Ms. Lourdes helps us with vocabulary words and letters to write.








During "Free Time" there is language development. We get to play with vehicles, build with blocks, and pretend that we are grownups, firefighters, police officers, and princesses. Ms. Lourdes asking open-ended questions has us thinking and learning.
After cleaning up and making sure we put the toys in the correct tub and shelf, with matching labels, Ms. Loudes does read-aloud. We get to pick the book and sometimes that is hard to do. She points to the title and reads, she asked us what does the writer do? and what does the illustrated do?


Do you know?
For our next transition, one of our friends points to what is next in our routine on the active schedule. Which are music, washing hands, and lunch.
At the table, we share what we did today at school and recall of what we learned.






After a nap, we play with table toys, and then get ready to go home. In the morning we start a new day of what we do at school.
