A a 
Alligator 
An alligator develops inside an egg,once the egg hatches a baby alligator
comes out and grows into an adult alligator
If the nest is above 90 degrees
all eggs hatch as male alligators.
If the nest is below 90 degrees
all eggs hatch as female alligators
B bBear
Bears are born during hibernation, they come out
during spring to find food
and protection
The bear becomes fully grown
after a year and by the second year
is forced to go live on its own
C c Camel
A baby camel is called a calf, and it is carried inside the mother for 13 months, after it is born
the calf lives with its mother for several years.
A camel usually lives for 40 years.
D d Dolphin
The male dolphin looks for a partner and then during spring time they make a baby
dolphin. The female dolphin will be
pregnant for 12 months. Once they are
born the mother dolphin takes care of its
baby and once the dolphin grows it chooses
to stay with the pack or go out to sea
on its own.
E e Elephant 
Elephants have three stages, when they arebabies, when they are young adults and
finally when they become grown adults.An african elephant when fully grown
becomes the largest land mammal.
FishF f
All baby fish are born in water.They are born from an egg called
an embryo. When they are born they
become larval fish and later grow
into fry and finally into
adult fish.
G gGiraffe
A female giraffe gives birth to a baby calf during the months of May through August
and the calf can be up to 6 ft tall!
It lives with its mother for a year and a half
and when it is ready it goes on to live on its
own.
H hHippopotamus
A Hippopotamus calf are born on land or in shallow water. They drink their
mother's milk underwater, once they are
old enough to walk they are left alone.
They travel in packs called herds and live
up to 45 years!
InchwormI i 
Moths lay eggs on top of leaves or branches and once it hatches it becomes a
larvae. In spring they prepare to become
pupae. Where they lower to the ground and
become a moth.
Female moths don't fly only male moths.
J jJaguar
A female jaguar gives birth to 3 to 4 cubs.They first drink their mother's milk and
when they are old enough they are taught
to hunt. Cubs stay with their mothers for
the first two years and go on to live on
their own for most of the year.
K kKangaroo
A baby kangaroo is called a joey and weighsabout two grams. The joey climbs
into its mother's pouch and drinks her milk
for 9 months. The joey will then come out
of the pouch and exercise but always returns
to the pouch until it is fully grown.
L lLlama
Mother llamas will be pregnant for 12 to 18months. When a baby llama is born they
grow all the way up to their third year!
Young llamas are known to be more active
than the older llamas.
M mMonkey
Baby monkeys are considered babies fortwo years, after the first two years have
passed they are considered young adults,
they feed on plants, insects and small
animals. When fully grown they look for
their mate.
N nNewt
Newts are born from a gel-like egg. They become tadpoles and for a while it allows
them to breathe under water and soon after
become an eft which allows them to live
on land instead of the water. They spend
several years on land before becoming an
adult newt. Adult newts may have both
legs and tails to walk on land and swim in
the water
O o
Owl 
When a baby owl first breaks out of the eggthey are pink. They do not have feathers to fly
The adult owl showsthem how to fly and hunt
Once they are ready they find their own nest and make their own family
P pPenguin
A female penguin lays an egg, some hold theegg between their feet, and once the penguin
hatches they keep warm there.
The baby penguin grows rather fast and it
doesn't take long until they are considered
adults like their parents.
Q qQueen Bee
A queen bee lays an egg inside a cell, if the egghas the potential to become a queen bee the
workers feed the special larva food called
"royal jelly". Once the larva becomes fully
grown the workers seal the cell. The larva then
becomes a pupa, and later the adult bee
leaves the cell to fly and start laying other
eggs.
