Previously in The Fake Detective  Jake got another chance from his boss.

I don't know how to prove it.

The next day Kam and Jake were playing pool. Their detective dogs Daisy and Rover were watching.

Then Katie walked in and said, "Our boss has called a meeting in the conference room." When they got in there, Teddy and their boss were waiting for them. The boss said, "We have a case to solve. There have been things stolen from two places, the pizza parlor and the mall. We need to find out where the person will strike next. They have the footage, we only know the person is wanted, and the burglar's nickname is Shadow.  The burglar strikes only at night when it's dark.  I'll need you to split into pairs. Katie and Teddy will pair up together and search the Pizza Parlor, and Jake and Kam will search the mall. Daisy can go with Katie and Teddy. Kam, you guys can take our other detective dog, Rover".

When Katie, Teddy, and Daisy arrived at the pizza parlor, they asked the owner what had been stolen. The owner said, "our cookies and only our cookies!" Katie said, "Thank you for this information." Then she wrote it down. Teddy told the owners it was going to be ok. We will find the person, and they  will go to jail. "Trust me", she said. She could tell by their faces that they were sad. "Anyway, thank you for this information, and have a blessed day."

When Jake, Kam, and Rover got to the mall, they found out from the candy store owner that the thief broke the glass and stole ALL the candy, except what they must have dropped on their way out.  "That's why there is so much candy on the floor. I was going to clean it up, but I wanted to wait until you guys got here. Just in case it's important evidence." "Well, thank you for doing that," said Kam. "Also, thank you for this information, and have a blessed day."
