Sulley is woken up by the sounds of a bustling city. The sounds of children playing, cars driving, and most importantly, his owner making Sulley some breakfast! Sulley is a shetland sheepdog and lives with his owner in an apartment. Sulley loves to hear the crackle of his food bag in the morning because it means his owner is awake and getting Sulley some food.

Many events occur throughout Sulley's day, but the saddest moment is when his owner leaves for work. Sulley consoles himself by squeezing his favorite toy, his quacker. When Sulley goes to his bed to find it, he only sees a figure standing by his window.

Sulley then figured that the mysterious figure was just an old street cat. With his toy! Sulley could hear his quacker scream out to him, "Sulley come save me!" The cat runs off on top of a roof and Sulley follows the cat out of his doggy door.

Sulley just kept on running, but now he knows that he had lost the cat and his toy. He doesn't know where he is, but he will keep going on no matter where he will go to find his quacker.

Sulley continues to walk as his paws begin to ache. As Sulley walks for what feels like hours, Sulley notices a bright red dog with a gleaming yellow bun on a cart. Sulley found a hot dog cart! The smell was so good that Sulley might have just floated to the cart, just like in a cartoon.

Sulley then looked up at the owner of the cart and gave him a smile. The owner of the cart then began to speak to Sulley. "Welcome to Dexter's Delectable dogs! I am Jack and this is my dog Dexter" The owner pointed to Dexter as he handed Sully a paper tub with a delicious hot dog inside. Dexter was a large and scary-looking dog, but he ended up helping Sulley!

Sulley then nods his head in approval as he walks away happily from the hot dog cart. The sun begins to set as a yellow hue lights up the sky. Sulley notices a couple of signs plastered along the street signs and lamps. As he walks along the streets, he then stops to notice a boy walking an old woman across the street.

Sulley continues to walk as he sits down next to a man. The poor man is shaking a cup as people walk by without even noticing him. Sulley realizes the man's situation as he walks up to him and gives him a smile and then licks him. The man smiles. Another man walks over and hands the poor man a bag of food. The poor man begins to cry as Sulley walks away as the sun begins to fully set into the dark.

Sulley walks across the streets of New York and finally accepts defeat. All seems lost. Sulley then sees the cat again, but on top of a car with his quacker. Sulley knew what he had to do as both of the animals ran. Sulley ran after the cat to who knows where.
