is for ANCHOR.
A broken anchor at the bottom of the ocean.
Where do you think it came from?
A pirate ship, maybe?





Bb
is for BLOWFISH.
Look how he fills his stomach with water and puffs up
like a balloon to protect himself from harm.
What do you think he could be scared of?





Cc
is for CRAB.
Crabs live in ocean or on land. They can vary in size from
the tiny pea crab to the Japanese spider crab that can
grow to be 13 feet long. Look out for their pinchers!
Ouch!








Dd
is for DOLPHIN.
Dolphins live together in large
groups and even communicate
with each other. Can you talk
like a dolphin?







Ee
is for ELECTRIC EEL
Do you see that eel hiding behind that rock?
Be careful it can give you quite a shock!











Ff
is for FISH
Here is a school of fish.
They don't really go to school. But if they did, wouldn't
that be so cool!















Gg
is for GILLS
Fish don't have lungs to breathe like we do. They use
gills to breathe underwater.





Hh
is for HAMMERHEAD SHARK
Do you see his funny shaped head?
It helps him to see better. In fact he can see up, down
and all around.







Ii
is for INKY OCTOPUS.
An octopus has 4 eyes and 8 sticky arms. If you scare
him, he will ink you in the face to get away.
Ewe, Icky!









Jj
is for JELLYFISH.
Jellyfish are shaped like an umbrella. A group of jellyfish
is called a bloom.
Be careful they might sting you!











Kk is for KELP.
Kelp is a plant that grows in the ocean
It's an underwater forest.
Animals hide in the forest and feed
on the plants. What creatures
can you find?





























Ll
is for LONG NOSE BUTTERFLY
FISH.
This fish doesn't look like a butterfly at all, but
look how colorful he is! What do you
think he uses his long nose for?




Mm
is for MANTA RAY.
These creatures are sometimes found lying on the
bottom of the ocean, blending in with the sand. When
swimming, manta rays look like they are flying through
the water.


Nn
is for NORTHERN SEAHORSE.
What's that? A horse in the sea?
It's not really a horse, of course, but
it sure does look like one!







Oo
is for OYSTER.
Look at that oyster at the bottom of the sea.
Oysters can make pearls from a tiny grain of sand.













Pp
is for PRAWN.
Prawns have a hard shell. I bet you have
seen a prawn before, maybe even eaten one.
Prawns have another name,
SHRIMP.












is for QUEEN CONCH.
See this huge seashell! A giant snail lives inside. If you
are lucky, you might find a shell just like this one washed
up on the seashore! Have you seen a shell like this
before?
