My Toddler classroom.
If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't be the teacher that I am without you.

Today starts a new day for Riley. She starts her first day in the Toddler Classroom. This story will give you a day in the life of a student in my classroom.
Once she has arrived in the classroom, her parents hang up her coat and hug Riley goodbye. As they leave the classroom, her teacher walks over to her and encourages her to wave goodbye to her parents. When Riley looks at their leave, she smiles and waves "Goodbye!" to her family.
(CDC, pg 9)

Once settled into the classroom, the teacher guides Riley to the sink to help wash her hands before breakfast. Breakfast began, and Riley started interacting with her new peers while eating her meal. After finishing her plate, Riley looks up at her teacher and asks, "More please?" while motioning to the breakfast tray.(CDC, pg 15) Her teacher responds, "Of course, you can have more food! Thank you for using your words to ask." and then gives her another serving of breakfast.

After breakfast has been cleaned up and diapers/potty time has concluded, it is time for Circle Time before the class is dismissed to small group activities. While Toddlers aren't expected to sit during the entire circle and are allowed to get up and move around, Riley is interested in the book the teacher is reading.
Riley points out the different animals during the story when asked if she could find the dog, bunny, and turtle.(CDC, 17) She also is excited about the different fingerplays during music time and tries to sing along with her classmates.

After songs and stories, the children are split into small groups and encouraged to participate in the different activities. One group is building with blocks, another is playing dress up, and another is playing with cars. Riley first joins the children in dress-up. She is excited to wear the different clothes but is having trouble getting them on. She takes the item to the teacher and says, "Help please!" while holding up the clothing.(CDC, pg 11) The teacher smiles and gladly helps her put on the outfit.
