Dedicated to all the children with a disability who have felt like their disability defines who they are. You are more than your disability, you are you!
Inspired by Judy Heumann, an advocate and activist for the civil rights of the disabled community.

When they got to the park, they noticed a girl sitting in a wheelchair.
One Saturday afternoon, Samantha, Madison, and Jake went to the park together.

Hi, Samantha! My name is Rebecca. Are those your friends over there?
Hi! My name is Samantha. What is your name?
Samantha decided to say hello to the girl.

Yes! Those are my friends.
Samantha introduced her friends Madison and Jake to Rebecca.

Hi! My name is Jake. My favorite color is blue. I love to walk on the nature trails in this park, and I have one dog. It's nice to meet you.
It's very nice to meet you, Jake! I also love going on the nature trails. I have one dog too! My name is Rebecca.

When it was time for Madison to say hello to Rebecca, she didn't know what to say. She felt strange talking to a person in a wheelchair since she had never done that before. She wasn't sure where to look, what to say, how to act, or if she even wanted to say hello.

Uh... Hello. Why are you in a wheelchair? Can you walk? Can you feel your legs? What happened? What can you do? How do you swim at the beach? Are you sad?

Samantha, Jake, and Rebecca were shocked Madison would say such means things and not even try to make a new friend.

Madison! You shouldn't say those mean things to Rebecca! She is just like us, and she just wanted to make new friends. You shouldn't ask her those questions because they make her feel bad.
Yeah, Madison. If someone asked you those questions, you wouldn't feel good. Everything you told Rebecca was not nice.
Samantha and Jake explained to Madison why the things she said to Rebecca were not nice and why she should not say those things.
