Once upon a time there lived a dog named "Ruff!" He loved to play outside, eat treats, chase after bones! 

Hi! I'm Ruff

Ruff had a big house, a great yard to play in, and a wonderful family, but he was sad because he was missing something... he wanted to make a friend. 

Ruff began his quest for a friend in the forest where he met the Big Bad Wolf. He asked if the Wolf wanted to be his friend, but the Wolf growled walked away, ignoring Ruff since they weren't the same animal.  

I'm only friends with people like me... The big... The bad... I could never be seen with a little puppy like you!

As Ruff began his journey home he took what the Wolf said to heart and decided he must change his behavior and act like the other animals in order to make friends.

Other animals don't like me for me, so I must have to change myself to fit in...

The next day Ruff went to a farm and saw the cows. He quickly began "mooing" and eating grass to imitate them. He thought this would make them friends, but alas the cows wanted nothing to do with Ruff.

Disappointed from the cows, Ruff moved on to the barnyard pigs. He oinked at them and rolled around in the mud. But the pigs just looks puzzled, why would a dog say "oink?"

Why is Ruff here? Doesn't he have is own dog friends?

Ruff tried sea animals next in hope they were more friendly! He went to the beach and jumped in the water, splishing and splashing around with the dolphins! He tried to swim like the dolphins instead of like a dog to make them like him more, but by pretending, he simply got in the dolphins way, irritating them. 

By sundown, even though Ruff had spent all day with the dolphins, they still didn't want to be his friend. They didn't understand why he was trying to act just like them. They had never met a dog that  tried to imitate a dolphin!
