Writing Fall 2022

Introduction

This poetry anthology is a collection of our class poems. Throughout this semester we have explored writing various types of poetry including. The Important Thing About... poems, list poems, and cinquain poems. By becoming more familiar with these forms of poetry, we will be able to incorporate them into our future classrooms and help our students further develop their writing. Through poetry, students will learn about the importance of writing and how emotions can be portrayed through their words.

The important thing about Jessica is that she is a mom.

She is good at playing sports, and she is kind, loving, and patient. Jessica is energetic and is the type of person that will go above and beyond for those that she loves.

But the important thing about Jessica is that she is a mom.

She is adventurous and brave,

She pushes herself to be the best she can be, 

She is an artist, a writer, and a reader,

The important thing about Laura is that she is kindhearted.

She loves making people laugh, and is thoughtful, and enthusiastic, and enjoys learning new things, and she loves doing just about anything with her dog Winston.

She loves her people, and coaching, and being an aunt. She is funny, and compassionate, and always up for an adventure. She enjoys roller coasters, and scary movies, and sunsets.

She loves to help others, be kind, and make people smile.

She loves to hang out with her friends, family, and boyfriend, as well as her cat Twix.

She loves when people support her and she loves supporting others, too.

The important thing about Alexis is she is playful. 

She loves to play games with her dog, cat, and little brother. 

She is kind, funny, and honest. 

She loves when people make her laugh and support her through hard times

The important thing about Paige is that she happy. 

She is hard working,

She is a lover of children,

She is caring and empathetic,

She loves her family,

She has a lot of patience,

She loves playing hockey,

She loves to make people smile,

She likes to go on adventures, and socialize with friends, 

and go shopping, and she is a Cheerleader, 

and she is a part of Greek life.

She works hard and is caring.

Parking Garage

Cool air.

Escape from Sun’s warm rays.

Loose pebbles scuffle under feet.

Rows of cars.

Metal beams rusty from previous years.

Countless parallel lines.

Bright white has now become dingey.

White car pulls out and heads to exit.

Muffled sounds of music as they past.

I couldn’t wait to try it
