Mbok Sirni was an old woman who wishes to have a child to help her with her work. She prayed for a blessing from god every day.

One day, she was approached by a giant, and the giant offered her a bag. The Giant tells Mbok Sirni that he can give her a child on the condition that it has to be returned to her when the child turned 17 years old. Mbok Sirni agreed without hesitation.

The giant's bag appeared to be filled with only cucumber seeds.

After a few months, one of the planted cucumbers bears the largest and golden-colored golden vegetable.

Mbok Sirni then carefully split the cucumber in half. Mbok Sirni was surprised when the golden cucumber revealed a beautiful baby, she was so grateful, and she named the baby Timun Mas.

Timun Mas was raised with love and patience by Mbok Srini.

Timun Mas grew up to be a lovely, kind, and wise woman, just like what Mbok sirni wanted, Timun Mas helped her with her work every day,

When Timun Mas turned 17, Mbok Sirni remembered her promise to the giant. She can’t help but feel depressed, as she’s trying to figure out how to save her daughter. Timun Mas noticed that his mother's behavior had recently changed, and decided to ask what happened. Mbok Sirni explained Timun Mas's origins and her promise to the giant.

One day, Mbok Sirni still hasn’t found a way to save her daughter, and the giant came to her house. She told the giant that Timun Mas was ill, and that Timun Mas would be less delicious to eat while she was ill. The giant believed and decided to return a few days later.
