Erikson
-Phycosocial theorist
-His theory has 8 stages. Eriskson beleived that social interaction and expierence played decisive roles. His theory of humna development decribed the process from infancy through death. Unlike many theories, Erikson's psychosocial theory focuses on development across across the entire lifespan.
I believe that this theory is pretty accurate because my neice who has been around people knows how to talk and how to socialize but my baby cousin who hasn't been around people and that has been always given a phone to spend her time at doesn't know how to talk and she's scared of people.
Skinner
-Behavioral Theorist
-All human behavior can be decribed in terms of enviomental influences. Classical conditioning and operant conditioning are 2 types of important types of learning. Classical conditioning invloves learning by pairing a naturally occuring stimulus. Operant conditioning utilizes reinforcement and punishment to modify behaviors. Development is considered a reaction to rewards, punishments, stimuli, and reinforcement.
I agree with this theory because most childrens behaviors need to be modified with punishments or rewards this way their behavior won't be a problem for them in the future.
Piaget
-Congnative developmental theory
-This is the development of a persons thought process.
-Sensorimotor stage-A period of time between birth and age two during which an infant's knowledge of the world is limited to his or her sensory perceptions and motor activities. Behaviors are limited to simple motor responses caused by sensory stimuli
-Pre-Operational Stage-A period between ages 2 and 6 during which a child learns to use language. During this stage, children do not yet understand concrete logic, cannot mentally manipulate information and are unable to take the point of view of other people.
Formal operational stage-period between age 12 to adulthood when people develop the ability to think about abstract concepts
I belive that this theory is somewhat right although I dont entirely believe that all of the stages are correct.
