It was getting that time of the year again, the
time of the year were they went to the rodeo. 10
year old, Magee, loved riding horses. Magee’s little
sister, Jena, who was only 8, was going to be in the
rodeo with her. Magee didn't really like that idea
because riding horses was her hobby. But because
Magee wanted to be a good sister she taught her
little sister how to ride. They spent a whole day
outside on the top of their hill learning and riding.
By the end of the day Jena had worked so hard and
was great!

The rodeo was the next day so they needed to go
inside and get some rest.
Magee was getting worried because she was scared
that little Jena had gotten so good that she might
beat her.

After all of her fuss she just decided that
she would get a good night sleep and a
fresh start in the morning to practice a
little more before the competition.

The next morning Magee got up early and went
up the hill. The sun was just coming up so she
knew she had a while to practice. When Magee
knew she had mastered her routine she went back
down the hill to go home.

She had worked so hard she was
covered in sweat. Magee knew if he
momma saw her like this she was in
big trouble, so she decided to wash up.
Afterward Magee got Jena up and
dressed so they were both ready!

The clock finally hit ten-o'clock. That meant it
was time for them to head out.
Magee, Jena, mom, and dad rode in the truck
pulling the horses for a whole hour before they
finally reached the fair grounds!

Before they could actually perform they
had to get the stalls together and register!
After they parked Magee and Jena worked
together to get their horses into the stalls.
While they were doing that their parents
entered them. Now all they had to do was wait
for their turn!

Jena was put on the schedule to perform
first. That eased some of Magee's nervousness.
The announcer called over the intercom that
it was her turn to go, and off she went. It was
the best Jena had ever done it. She was spot
on and got all of her turns correct. She did
wonderful and didn’t mess up not once. That
made Magee even more worried about losing.
Finally it was Magee’s turn to go perform.
