This book is dedicated to any children who have had to experience their parent's divorce and feel alone during this time. Remember, youre not.

Rae was outside on a beautiful day, playing with her dog max.
¨ Here boy!¨ she yelled.
Max ran up to Rae, knocking her over. Her mother saw this happen from the kitchen window and decided it was time for Rae to come inside now.
"Rae! come in please, your father and I want to talk to you,¨ yelled her mother from the window.

Rae came in to find her parents sitting in the living room, both with serious looks on their faces.
¨ How about you sit down honey? We want to talk to you about something, and we want this to be as comfortable as possible for you,¨said her mother.
Rae sat down, very confused as to what her parents were about to tell her.
Her father cleared his throat and began to talk...

What is going on?
"Your mother and I decided it was best for the whole family if we get a divorce. Sometimes people fall out of love and that's okay. This doesn't change our love for you Rae, we just need to do what's best for all of us," said her father as he held back tears.
Rae understood what a divorce was but didn't understand how her parents could have fallen out of love with each other. Rae didn't know what to make of this situation but she knew it was only going to get harder.

¨We love you honey, and thats never going to change¨.

Rae went to her room and began to cry as she thought about all that was going to change.
She had never imagined having divorced parents and wasn't ready for all of the holidays and birthdays spent apart.
Rae went to bed that night unable to stop thinking about what her parents had told her.

Rae came downstairs the next morning and saw her father's stuff was already in boxes.
This bothered Rae but she just wanted her parents to be happy and she knew this was the next step.
A few minutes later, Rae's mother came into the room and saw how bothered she was by her father's things in boxes.
Rae's mother hugged her and said, "I know this isn't easy honey, but we´ll get through it. As a family. Married or not we are still a family."

As Rae was walking to school she kept thinking about what her mother had said to her earlier that morning.
This was the first time Rae felt at ease and started to understand the situation a little better.
Rae started to realize that a marriage doesn't determine her parents love for her, and that they can still love her, and each other without being together.
