Once upon a time in a land of peace, there
was a kingdom called Ponderosa Castle. It
was ruled by a beautiful princess named
Tsubaki. She was a nice, fair princess whom
everyone admired. Every day she would walk
through streets and greet everyone. She never
needed a guard because nothing bad ever happened in
Ponderosa.

One day, however, she was walking near the edge of
the village. All of a sudden a monster came out of
nowhere and grabbed Tsubaki. She screamed and
tried to get away. But the monster was strong and
no one was around at the time. Then, a young villiger
named Shang walked by and saw what was happening.
He picked up a sword that he had found in a barrel
nearby. He fought the monster and won easily. He
then went to where the monster had tied the princess.

He set his sword down and untied Tsubaki. He then
escorted her to the captain of the castle guard.
Tsubaki explained what had happened. Shang
received a gold medal. The princess also made him the
guard that walked with her in the village every day.
The princess was very cautious from then on out.

Two years went by and everything was peaceful.
Tsubaki was sitting on her throne and Shang was
standing beside her in the throne room. All of a
sudden a dragon bursts through the wall. The
soldiers tried to beat him but they didn't stand a
chance. He started walking toward the princess.
Shang pulled out his sword and readied himself in a
fighting stance. He stared into the dragon's eyes. He
ran at the dragon but missed. The dragon quickly
pulled a counter-attack but Shang blocked it right at the
last second.

The dragon then slung his fist toward Shang. Shang
quickly moved out of the way but then was hit by the
dragon's huge spiky tail. Shang was slammed against
the wall and fell onto the floor unconscious. The
dragon turned back to the princess. He grabbed her in
his hand, jumped out of the hole in the wall he had
made, and flew away with the princess calling for help.

Shang woke up with his vision blurred a little. He
had a bit of a headache. Just then the captain of the
castle guard walked in the room. He was carrying a
tray of food. He sat down in seat beside the bed and
handed the tray to Shang. He told him what happened
and that he had been unconscious for two days. Shang
tried to get up and get ready to leave and save the
princess but the captain said that he had to rest.

Two days later the captain came in and told him that
he was rested enough to go after the princess he
gave him food, a map, a horse, and a sword. He left
on the journey as quickly as he could. He searched far
and wide and only stopped when he was low on
supplies or needed to water his horse. He soon found a
clue. It was Tsubaki's crown and horse hoof prints
leading away from it.
