Whack! Whack! Chop! Chop!  Mother was preparing dinner.  Mother looked outside and saw two children joyfully playing.  It was a nice, sunny day in the neighborhood.  Mother wondered what little Jimothy was doing.  Pew! Pew! Pew! came the sound of video games from the living room.

    “Jimothy Lee Cornelius, get off those video games right this minute!” Mother shouted.

    “Ugh…. five more minutes, please,” Jimothy pleaded.

    “No, right now.  It’s a beautiful day outside,” Mother replied.

    Mother went back to preparing dinner.  Five minutes later, Mother went searching for Jimothy.  He was glued to the computer screen.  Mother picked Jimothy up, set him on the stairs, and went to open the front door.  When Mother turned around Jimothy was playing on his Game Boy.

    Steam was coming out of Mother’s ears like a tea kettle. Purple veins were popping out of her forehead.  Mother thundered upstairs as loud as a thousand elephants, acting like she may need rage therapy.
