Chapter 1

The Caribbean is located between north and south America in the Atlantic Ocean which covers about 1,063,000 sq mi (2,753,000 sq km). The Caribbean is made up of a total of 700 hundred islands, comprising of many countries which speak different languages and cultural diversities. 

Chapter 2

Tortola is the Largest and most Populated Island of the British Virgin Islands. Tortola is widely known for its white sandy beaches and beautiful green hills. Most people that live there likes fishing, farming and swimming, other activities in the BVI also attract tourist and newcomers. Tortola is comprising of many ethnic groups which speak different languages and cultural diversities. The BVI is a prime tourism destination for tourist who like the tropical environment. Tortola has a surface area of 55.7 square kilometers (21.5 square miles) with a total population of 39,601 (2024 based on untied national estimates). Mount Sage is the highest point at 530 meters (1,740 feet) above sea level. 

Chapter 3

On a Wednesday morning Sept 6, 2017, the devastating effects of hurricane Irma was so severe, it impacted our social and economic welfare. As a category 5 hurricane, this strong and ruthless wind caused destruction a took lives along its way. The Department of Disaster Management warned us that Hurricane Irma might pass over the British Virgin Island and suggested us to stay indoors. According to Immigration, they suffered a period of depopulation in 2018. Because most belongers and expats houses were destroyed. And as a result, people have to leave the island and find other alternatives to live and survive this ordeal.
