The sun was just beginning to set behind The Snuggly Duck-
ling inn. "Over all, the party had been a huge success", thought
Rapunzel. She hummed a song to herself as she began to pick
up plastic cups and paper plates, grabbing dropped leis of
many different colors. It had been Flynn's idea to throw the
party, in celebration of their new rule to the kingdom. Many
friends and family had come, and the party had been a
Hawaii themed party. But one thing puzzled Rapunzel. Out of
the 300-some guests that had showed, there had been one
figure, dressed head-to-toe in black that she had not
recognized. Rapunzel started to wash the dishes, glancing at
her reflection in the window as she washed. But what was
that? Just as Rapunzel turned to face the dark figure behind
her, she was hit hard with something cold and metal.
Groaning, she fell to the floor, and the last thing she saw was a
brown sack being sipped over her face. Then she was out cold.

"Rapunzel!" Yelled Flynn, bursting Through the door to their kitchen.
"You'll never guess what Pascal did to me! He just stuck his tongue
up my nose! I-" his words were cut short when he saw A figure
cloaked in black, holding a brown sack which looked like it weighed
a ton. The figure pulled the cloak further over its head so it couldn't
be recognized, then leaped out the kitchen window, leaving Flynn and
Pascal standing there, mouths open wide.

Deep within the forest, Flynn sat, head in his hands.
Suddenly, something wet and soft was nudging his
head. "Max! C'mere boy!" Flynn said, looking up
at the big white horse. Max snorted a greeting. "I
know you miss Rapunzel. I just reported all I saw
to the palace guards. Don't worry, they'll find her
in no time." Max snorted again. "What?! No I don't
have any apples for you! how could you even think
of that at a time like this?" Flynn shouted angrily.
Max rolled his eyes and, tossing his mane over his
shoulder, trotted away, leaving Flynn to sit alone in
his grief. Flynn would solve this mystery himself if
he had to.

Not but five minutes later Max was back again. "Didn't
I tell you to leave me..." Flynn started to say. But then
he noticed what was in Max's mouth. It was Rapunzel's
Lai from the party! Our first clue! "But where did you
find it?" He exclaimed. Max motioned to a green patch
of grass just outside the forest.Sniffing the ground,
Max started off on his search for Rapunzel. Flynn
hurried to catch up, but stopped himself. "Wait for me!"
He called out. Then he grabbed his frying pan from a
branch on a tree. "You never know what you're going
up against," he told himself. The two walked for a long
time, until they finally reached a cave with a blanket of
dark green leaves covering it. "Why does this place
seem so familiar?" Said Flynn. Then Max pulled back
the leaves. "Oh yeah,"said Flynn. "Now I remember."
They were staring right at Rapunzel's tower.

Flynn and Max burst in the castle, looking for any signs of
Rapunzel. "It's useless, Max, she's not here," said Flynn after
they had given the place a thorough search. Still, they for
looked for clues. Finally, Flynn pulled something up. "Ah
ha! Evidence!" Flynn held up an old black
phone. "Max do you know what this means?"Max just stared
at him. "This is the twins phone, the two ruffians I stole the
crown with, remember?" Max whinnied at him, remembering
how he had helped saved the day. "Well," continued Flynn,
they must have kidnapped her! they are the perpetrators!
I should have known! Come on Max, we must find them!
But first, lets go grab some lunch." Max whinnied his
agreement and they both hurried back to the castle.

Flynn, Pascal, and Max set off deeper into the
forest. They had had a good lunch, and they were
now ready to catch the bad guys. "This is no
use," said Flynn after a while. "We could be out
here for weeks and never find them. And we have
to find Rapunzel, and NOW!" Max noticed he
was upset and walked over and stood by him
and whinnied. "You're right, Max," said Flynn. "I
just need a little more faith." At that moment two
figures dressed in black burst through the trees
carrying bags of money over their shoulders. "Oh
it's just some robbers," sighed Flynn. "Wait a
second," said Flynn, eyes wide, "Those are the
twins! After them!"

Flynn, Pascal, and Max sat in the interrogation room
at the palace. Pascal was the most intimidating to the
twins, who trembled in fear whenever he came near
them. "Where's Rapunzel?!" Flynn shouted. I won't
stand here forever. Tell me now or you won't like
where you go after this." The twins just laughed.
"We don't have a clue what you're talking about,"
said the bigger of the two. "We were starving, tired,
on the run, and when we saw the abandoned tower
we thought, hey, why not?' And I guess I must have
dropped my phone on the way." Flynn groaned.
'Red Herring', He thought to himself."Take them
away, guards, they're of no use to us."

"WAIT!" Yelled one of the twins. "That guard," he
said, pointing to Max's old owner, "I saw him at the
Snuggly Duckling yesterday. He was at the bar
talking to the guy next to him. He said that if it
weren't for Rapunzel, he would still be captain of
the guard, not Max. Then he ended by saying he
would get his revenge." Everyone turned their head
to see what the guards reaction would be. He turned
bright red, and started backing away slowly. "I
didn't do it! I swear! I have an alibi! I'm sorry I
swear I won't do anything now or ever. Please just
let me keep my job!" "We'll see about that," said
Flynn glaring at him. "Guards, take him away, and
make sure you check on that alibi."
