This book is dedicated to a friend's younger brother who loved frogs. He could inform me about anything and everything about frogs. While being advanced in that subject he was considered to be delayed in others. He has autism and has a hard time making connections with friends and others. He never let it get the best of him and always put a smile on my face when he was around.

"Hi, I am Eli and this is my pet dinosaur, Teddy."

"Teddy and I have been best friends for the longest of times. I take him everywhere with me. I know everything about him just as he knows everything about me."

"I could spend all day talking about dinosaurs and learning about them."

"Mom says, my teddy facts are an important part of what makes me, me. I talk about teddy and dinosaurs all the time. I have teddy around when I am upset, angry, sad, happy, and scared."

"Sometimes when I can't control how I am feeling, I squeeze teddy real tight and whisper, 'dinosaur, dinosaur, hear me roar,' until the feeling goes away."

"In class, we are learning more about dinosaurs!"

"Dinosaurs are my favorite and I can't wait to share everything I know with my classmates. Mr. Suz said that we will be discussing them for one week."

"Okay class, can anyone tell me anything about dinosaurs?" Asked Mr. Suz
"Dinosaurs lived on the earth 175 million years ago!" Shouted Eli.

"Very nice, Eli. But next time please wait till I call on you. Sofia" Mr. Suz called.

"Dinosaurs are big and scaly. They also eat animals." Sofia stated.

"You would be correct about some dinosaurs, Sofia. Travis, what dinosaurs only eat meat?" Mr. Suz asked.
"Carnivorous dinosaurs eat only meat. Teddy is a carnivore because he only likes meat!" Exclaimed Eli.

"Eli, I asked Travis the question. Next time, wait till you are called on! Or you will be staying after class." Mr. Suz said disapprovingly.

I don't understand. Dinosaurs are my favorite, and I can't help but blurt it out." Eli thought.

Class continued, but this time Eli stuck to himself. He sat quietly in his chair, stimming with Teddy in his hands defeated until class was dismissed for recess.

During recess, all the kids in the class gathered around Eli and began teasing him. They began chanting "Eli the dinosaur, Eli the dinosaur." At first, Eli thought they were playing.

Eli quickly became over stimulated and began flapping his arms in panic. The students stared in shock. Until Travis began laughing. Then all the students began laughing.

"ELI THE WEIRDO!" Shouted Travis.

Travis took teddy out of Eli's hand and threw it in a puddle. A whistle broke out and all the students dispersed while Eli broke down and cried.

Eli searched outside panicked looking for his beloved toy and comfort object but to no avail. Mr. Suz approached Eli, prompting him to come inside.

"Eli, it's time to come inside." Mr. Suz said
"No!" Eli shouted.

Eli didn't know how to express this overwhelming amount of emotion. He began flailing his arms, while chanting Teddy.

"Eli, I understand you have a lot of emotion but I need you to count to ten to calm down so I can help." Mr. Suz said.
"1...2...3..." Eli began counting.

Eli and Mr. Suz began going through one of Eli's coping mechanisms until Eli was able to explain what was happening.
"I am sorry Eli, but we are going to have to return to class to talk with the students then we can return to look for Teddy." Mr. Suz said apologetically.

"But..." Eli stalled.

Eli was reluctant to return but he grabbed Mr. Suz's hand and headed back to class.

"Class, I have been informed from one of our friends some very bad news. We have not been treating everyone nicely and taken away something dear to Eli. Would anyone like to speak up on the matter?" Mr. Suz questioned.

The class remained silent.
