Thanks for reading my book!

Og wandered and wandered in the jungle following the buzz that meant breakfast, when all of a sudden, everything was unfamiliar. Lost. Og was lost. Og was a red-eyed green tree frog who was small and vulnerable, often scared by the smallest sounds around him. He lived in the jungles of Costa Rica with his big family and many friends who all took turns in forging food. Today was Og’s turn, and he was starving after not eating all morning. The smell of juicy insects had lured him out of the protected boundaries of his home, and so there he was. Lost.

Og's mind wandered as he frantically walked in circles with thoughts of returning home. He loved his safe little house in the very small part of the jungle. He felt protected by the long, thick vines that surrounded it like a big warm hug. He was at peace with the light from the fireflies that made his house shimmer and glow. Just outside those boundaries though, lay the frightful darkness and the dangers that lurk within it.

In an instant, Og's attention to the dangers around him was interrupted by something in the distance. “I see something! What is that light? Could that be my home?” I must go to that light. Maybe my friends and family are there waiting for me, Og thought.
As Og hastily jumped towards the light, he heard a mysterious sound, a whirl of gurgling peace. “What is that sound?” Og wondered as he curiously looked around.

Slowly, he began to feel the heavy, moist, humid air around him. Buzz, buzz, gulp! as Og ate an annoying insect buzzing around his head. Chitter chatter, chitter chatter! Was that a capuchin monkey? Og thought. Remembering how these monkeys had played mean tricks on him and his friends before, Og shook with alarm. As he cautiously turned around, Og’s eyes opened wide to see a ginormous, bamboo, rainforest before him.

In the distance, Og saw that soft, glowing, light again. Then it began to glisten and Og realized that it wasn’t a light at all. It was a reflection! Just then, Og heard twigs cracking behind him in a terrifying way. He jumped around quickly but saw nothing. He turned back to the light and murmured to himself, “Focus, Og, focus!” Out of nowhere, “Caw, Caw!” The piercing noise screeched through Og’s ears as he jumped back, and all he could see were feathers!

Og felt his feet scrape the rough ground as he tried to keep his balance, but the next thing he knew, all he could feel was the cool wind rush between his webbed feet. His weightless body plummeted to the depths below. Oh my goodness! What was that creature?! Og asked himself. Oh my goodness, I think I’m falling! I’m definitely falling! “Ahhhhhh! I am definitely falling!" Og wailed.
