Chapter 1 ~ The New Puppy

Emma saw her best friend Ava standing outside at school, "Hey! Guess what?"

Ava asked, "What?!

"On Saturday, I got a new puppy!" Emma exclaimed.

Ava was excited, "What breed is it?"

Emma smiled, "It's a husky puppy."

They walked into school to go to their class.

When they go to their class they saw their other friends, Oliver and James, talking about their basketball game. 

When Oliver saw the girls, he exclaimed, "Hey, guess what! We won our last game!"

James chimed in, "Now we get to go to the championships!"

Ava exclaimed, "Emma got a puppy over the weekend!"

Emma nodded, "He's a husky puppy and we named him Buddy!"

The principal came over the intercom to make the morning announcements, "Good morning students! there is going to be a fundraiser starting Wednesday. Since you all have been learning about pollution, we are going to be raising money for a beach clean up event. We hope to see you at the beach next Friday. Whoever raises the most money, will get a special prize."

All of the students in the classroom cheered. 

Emma had an idea, "I can bring Buddy to the beach!"

Chapter 2 ~ The Great Idea

Emma invited Oliver, James, and Ava over to her house after school to meet her new puppy. 

While they were petting a very excited Buddy, James thought of something, "We should think of something for the beach clean up!"

Oliver immediately exclaims, "Whoever can throw the most trash into the trash bag gets a free basketball!"

James high-fives him, "You're on!"

Ava shakes her head, "I am not doing that."

Emma chimes in, "We can do something involving Buddy!"

Buddy ran into the living room, so the friends followed him when Ava chimed in, "Whoever picks up the most trash can take a picture with the puppy and can pet the puppy."

Emma says, "I like it!"

James pouts, "Let's do something with sports and the puppy!"

Oliver adds, "I like it, how about whoever can throw the most trash into the trash bag can take a picture with the puppy, like the girls!"

Buddy barks and they all laugh together.
