Skeletal System What is the skeletal system? The skeletal system is a big part of your body that gives you shape and protects you. The skeletal system is made up of many bones. There are three parts of a bone: * compact bone * spongy bone * bone marrow

*Cranium(skull) *pelvis *Mandible(jaw) *tarsal(ankle) *hyoid(neck) *femur
How does the skeletal system work? The joint connects bones to other bones. The joint also squeezes the muscle and makes it shorter. Tendons connects bones to muscles. the joint helps bend the arm/leg/other.

How do bones work together? Bones work together to protect you. They work with muscles.

Fun Facts There are 206 bones in the skeletal system. Bones have two parts calcium and minerals.
