NATURE

So they set off for the forest, carrying with them everything they would need. Nicola carried the tree, Carmen the shovel to dig, Philomela a large bucket of water to water it, and Elif a stick to support their tree until it grows. But as they were going, Carmen fell and hit her leg. Her friends ran to help her. They picked her up, tended to her wound and carried the shovel so she wouldn't get tired

SOLIDARITY

One of the four children, Nikola, ran very fast to find Carmen’s parents to tell them what had happened in the forest. Luckily, Carmen’s home was quite nearby and her parents were at home. As soon as possible, they took Carmen to the hospital. To everyone’s relief the doctor said everything was fine, there was no broken leg, and the wound wasn’t very deep to need stitches. Carmen needed a little bit of rest so Nicola, Elif and Philomela spent that afternoon at Carmen’s home to keep her company by playing board games but the next day they all together decided to return to the forest and continue the planting.

RESPONSIBILITY

When the children came to the forest, Philomela and Nikola dug pits with shovels and planted the seedlings, tied them so that the seedlings would not bend from the wind. Elif carried water from the stream and they watered the saplings together. On the way back to their home, Elif said, "We were going to visit my grandfather and grandmother today, let's meet under the walnut tree at two o'clock." He stopped by the house and bought bread made by his mother. Nikola had put eggs from his coop in his basket. Philomela, on the other hand, had collected spinach from the garden for her grandmother, which she loved very much. The three friends set off. When Elif's grandfather and grandmother saw the children, they said that they were very happy that you came to visit. The stories told by the grandfather also made the children very happy.

RESPECT FOR THE ELDERLY

On the way back from a visit, 4 friends see a limping uncle pass by across the road. They were very upset when they saw other children making fun of uncle. At that moment, one of the children pushed the limp uncle and dropped him to the ground. 4 friends went to the uncle and helped him get up. Later, Elif got angry with children, saying that you have to respect people, you cannot treat anyone badly, every person is different and we should respect differences. Uncle Nicola thanked Elif, Carmen and Philomela for being such respectful children. 4 friends took uncle to his house.

HAPPINESS

The children went to the forest to see what the tree they planted is doing. They called it the tree of happiness. The tree was magical and spread happiness to all who were around it.
The flowers in the forest became happy, the other trees in the forest became happy, but also the children who came near him.
When it blossomed, butterflies of all colors came from everywhere and danced around it. When it bore fruit, birds from distant countries came to taste it.
The children came to visit him every day and played happily around him.

TO BE FAIR

One day, Carmen and Philomela were waiting for their friends to have fun in the park when they saw a group of three children playing with a ball and another child, who seemed younger, was near them asking them to join their game, but without success. The others were telling him he was too young and he had to wait until one of them gets tired to let him join their game. Carmen asked the three children why don’t they play together if they are friends? She told them that, as well, they have two other friends of different ages, but they always play together because otherwise it is not fair. The young child asked Carmen what is the meaning of being fair. Fairness, Carmen said, is making things equal for everyone. It is also about taking turns and following rules, but there are many ways to be fair if you think about the others’ feelings, added Philomela. Nikola and Elif soon appeared at the park, greeting everyone and inviting them to join the Uno game that Nikola had just received. We will explain the rules and everyone is welcomed to play, said Elif. The children learnt a great lesson and they all played together sharing a lot of joy and laughter.

TO LOVE.

The children realized that it was getting dark and thought they should go home. Elif said goodbye to her friends Carmen Nikola and Philomela and went home. He had a nice dinner with his family. After saying good night to his parents, he went to bed. Before he went to sleep, he thought about the time he spent with his friends and realized how much they loved each other.

Elif woke up in the morning and had her breakfast. As every morning, the four friends, filling their buckets to water the tree of happiness, set off towards the forest. When they reached the tree of happiness, they were about to pour the water in their buckets when they saw the bird in the cage that had fallen to the ground. When they looked up, they noticed cages with birds hanging from tree branches. Without a second thought, they set all the birds free. When they returned home, they told all the people and authorities about this situation. All people mobilized for the birds. All the birds flew freely and continued to accompany nature's song.
