IDT 3600 REFLECTION

Learning with Technology- Flipgrid
This was our very first module and assignment for this course. I came into this course very nervous and doubtful. I have never been good at technology, and I have never tried to improve my technology skills. This assignment seemed very overwhelming at the beginning, but I did actually enjoy it. After completing this very first Padlet assignment and Flipgrid video, I felt more confident and hopeful.
The Flipgrid tool was a very useful tool, and I love the whole idea of it. Padlet is a great website to use as a future educator. Students as well as educators could create vision boards. Teachers could use Padlet as a creative way to inform their students or students' parents about various things. Padlet would also be an amazing way for your students to do an educational project or assignment while being able to be creative. Padlet allows us to add our touch to things and customize them how we would like. I plan to use some form of Flipgrid and Padlet in my future classroom.
Productivity Tools- Google Docs, Slides, Sheets , and Forms
I used to think that Google suites only offered very basic features and websites. I was only ever familiar with the very basics of Google Docs. I have used Docs all throughout my high school and college career, but I have never truly explored it until now. I used Slides a couple of times, but I did the bare minimum with it. I had never used Sheets or Forms until this IDT course.
Now I think that Google suits are amazing and very useful. I am very happy that I learned about these very useful tools. I am much more confident in my abilities to edit things and use Google applications. I think that Google's applications are some of the most beginner friendly applications that I have ever used. I look forward to using these applications in my future classroom.
Digital Organization- Determining Good and Bad Resources, Google Sites
When we first began this module I was confused and kind of nervous. I had never heard of any of these applications other than Google sites. Going into using Wakelet, I was very overwhelmed because it was so much. I now feel very confident with my abilities to create a website and use many digital organization tools. As a teacher organization is crucial. Digital organization tools allow you to be organized when it comes to technology. Using technology in a classroom is also crucial, so these organization tools help you a lot.
I used the Wakelet organization tool and I did think that it was very helpful, and with more practice, I think that I will love it. The Wakelet organization tool allows you to categorize information and make your different collections look nice with your touch of creativity. This app allows you to bookmark links to websites and add descriptions. This will be very helpful for a teacher who will use technology. You will be able to keep track of the different apps and websites that you can use in the classroom, and you can categorize them. This makes it easier for students to view certain websites that may help them as well.
Digital Citizenship, Online Safety, and Cyberbullying
When we started this lesson, I was very excited because I feel very strongly about cyberbullying and online safety. After completing this module, I feel even more confident in my education regarding cyberbullying. The videos and activities opened my eyes up about how many people actually are cyber bullied. Digital Citizenship is a great tool to help students understand how to be safe when it comes to being online. Now that technology is very big in education, students should learn how important internet safety is.
Teachers can use this tool to help students understand how the internet should be used. Cyberbullying is a very big issue that impacts people all over the world. Students should be taught how to recognize a cyberbully, how to report cyberbullying, and how to make sure they're not being a cyberbully. These games on Digital Citizenship provide a fun way for students to learn internet safety! This would be the perfect tool for teachers to use.
Tool Time- Concept Map, info-graph, Digital Story Book.
When we started this module I had never used any of the applications or tools that we were required to use. I was very stressed, especially about the story book. After completing these assignments, I felt better about my ability to use infographics and create concept maps. I felt really excited about the digital story book.
This tool is very helpful and fun. I think that teachers would really enjoy this tool. You can essentially create your own little book and even print it. Students would love doing this. Teachers would also love to make their own books for their students. This would be a very fun and educational activity for a classroom.
EdTech Reviews- Quizizz, Quizlet
When we began this module, I had previously known a little bit about Kahoot. We played Kahoot all throughout school, and I loved it. I did not know about any of the other options, but I found Quizizz and researched it. I found that both of these tools were very helpful. After exploring them and seeing all of the ways that I could use them in a future classroom, it really excited me.
Both Quizizz and Kahoot are interactive review game tools. These are amazing tools for reviewing information, or simply quizzing. Kahoot has many features that allow you to change your theme, time limit, as well as background music. Kahoot is an amazing tool that will help students, and they will enjoy it as well!
